| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- A true space odyssey lol. I had a lot of fun with this. The aesthetic and atmosphere are right up my alley and it's super fast paced and jumpy but the writing maintains a certain snappiness despite it, with fun dialogue too. Having a pretty good soundtrack helps move things along. I love how it embraces its absurdity as well, like an enemy can just pull something like the Sacrifice Cannon out of nowhere but it just feels right at home in this world (and it ends up being not even close to the biggest one). It's very inexplicable, in an almost Tomino way, where things just happen but it never feels truly nonsensical. |
