| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- There's some pressure on Shigure this episode... But yeah, it looks like the season is back to the serious stuff with the character relationships and storytelling. Kyo in particular needs to maintain his place in the household. Even Momiji is back! Reflecting on Tohru's own past, I still find it very important this season. Wonder how many times she'll cry this season |

| only Honda can find positives about getting casually bonked in the head but damn Shigure's message about handling the future was pretty darn good. It doesn't always have to be a rush, these kinds of things should be taken slowly but surely |

| Such a lovely episode! I still cannot believe we are finally seeing this animated!!! Loved Kyo / Tohru's moments. He is the one who can get her to open up & say how she really feels <3 |
| I'm glad this series is back, I missed it so much. This episode was quite filled with Tohru x Kyo moments. It's nice to see how much their relationship has developed, Kyo bumps her head more frequently now XD and he casually calls her Tohru, and he smiles and laughs more with her. Even taking romance out of the way, I think anyone can see that they're really close friends now and that they have a precious relationship. |

| Great episode! It's the time for decision making and, with it, its flurry of worries and uncertainties. Gulping down some sommen with company definitely sounds like a solid plan though xD. Good words there, Shigure-san, and some genuine Tohru tears (first of many, I'm assuming). Uotani's dropkick to start off followed by more of the goofiness between the two was hilarious. Never going to get tired of this, lol. Shisho letting Kyo's father have a little bit of it was really cool to see as well, that old man has clearly long lost it I'm afraid. Did Kyo really kill his mother though? I highly doubt it honestly but I'm curious, so very curious in fact. Lol, dat face though.  Yuki taking center-stage last episode and Kyo now, I wonder what's in store for us next... |

"Arisa: Oh yeah, I met a guy I quite like at my workplace. What's he like? He's like you, Tohru." Fruits Basket is the yuri we don't deserve. /s --- Man, the part about feeling uneasy about the future sure hits differently now that I'm older. When I was growing up, I didn't know what I wanted to do, and for the things I was more interested in, those options barely existed in my country. And now, with me not having a job and the current situation worldwide, I really do feel that uneasiness and anxiety brought up in this episode. There's just so much 'unknown' right now that I'm scared about... Can't believe S2 already got me crying in the second episode already. But that's Feels Basket for ya. |

| So we got chapters 46 & 52 this episode. I guess they worked together ok. Nice Kyou-Tooru moments. <3 Looks like next episode is finally Ayame's shop (chapter 36). And then I hope we get chapters 43, 47, 48, 50, 53 before the beach arc starts in chapter 54. Please don't skip any chapters. |

| Comes to no surprise, but great episode once again!! Arisa and Kyo get along very well it seems! :P The moments between Kyo and Tohru were really adorable, even after everything that has happened, they are definitely growing stronger together! Kyo's changes the past year as been pretty drastic judging from the little flashback Kazuma had! The moment Kyo kinda slapped his hand on Tohru's head and Tohru judging the sound it made, oh Tohru, why are you so special!!! Heavy feels in the second half between Kyo and Tohru, but let's face the fact that no matter how laid-back Shigure is, he has his ways of saying something great at times!! |

| Fantastic episode. Got quite the feels in the second half. And also Shigure with his wise words. Hana x Tohru ship. Honestly, I wouldn't mind XD. We got to witness the strong bond between Kyo and Shisho. What a fatherly figure. It's a shame that he didn't get the same love from his biological father. |

Sounded like Monica Rial in the dub Also damn... the message of the episode really had to be about not worrying for the future... right when I'm signing up for fall college classes and worrying about if they're even gonna be inperson lmao |
| Nice episode. Tohru was such a cutie as always. And what nice speech and metaphor from Shigure. You gotta start and keep going, even if you're hesistant. But sometimes it's ok to take your mind off with other things. |

| I really enjoyed this episode and I loved it so much and it's not a shock coming from me! And I was legit screaming from all the tohru x kyo moments, they were all so cute! I can't wait to see more of them and how their relationship develops! And I was really happy on how the first part of the episode (after the op) was exactly the same as the manga! They've done it so perfectly. This episode is more than a 5/5 for me!  |

| That was really sweet. Kyo and Tohru’s interactions were adorable. Kazuma really is Kyo’s dad, huh. :’) Idk why, but I was under the impression Kyo’s biological father was dead, so when he called I was like ??? But jesus, Kyo deserves far better than that dude so thank god he has Kazuma. |

| I love Kazuma and his bond with Kyou, so it was amazing to have him in the episode. I just love the father and son relationship between Kazuma and Kyou, so getting new scenes is always amazing. So excited for next week :) |

| Uh oh... the feels are slowly converging! The discussion between Kyo's father and Kazuma gave me a lump in my throat because there is no way Kyo can ever be allowed to live a life like that. How can Kyo's father talk like that about him? I don't consider that bastard his father anyway; Kazuma is his dad! There were some nice moments between Kyo and Tohru and a lot of words to live by... such a nice episode. |

| I was annoyed when Tooru was made to cook after being invited to lunch, but at least Kyou helped her out and they had a good time together. Kyou's "father" though... I didn't expect anything good because I know that his true father is his shishou, but I was still disappointed. I doubt he ever did anything for Kyou, and now he also refers to him like that and is eager to lock him for the rest of his life in a cage. Well, I'm worried, but I know that there are people who are going to stand up with and for him when the time comes. And I think that feeling overwhelmed when thinking about your future is something that anyone can relate to. I liked Shigure's analogy with the mountain of laundry. It reminded me that I should always start by doing and changing what I can, one thing at a time. |

| My eyes kind of watered at that deep speel, but Shigure's right. What we all needed rn. Somen. Also, is it just me or does Kyou start to sound different now? Not sure if it's because he's screaming less, or cuz he's around Tohru, or if the seiyuu just changed up his voice... but he sounds different. More mature maybe? P.S. Wondering if we'll see Uotani's crush this season. |
| Looks like this latest episode combined the events of Chapters 46 and 52 together for a Kyo-focused episode. Much like last week, events from both chapters were shuffled together to fit this episode's narrative. Here were changes I noticed with this latest episode between the manga and anime... -The anime removed shots of Kyo and Yuki as Mayuko mentioned parent-teacher conferences. -Tohru and Kyo’s walk to Kazuma’s house was a little longer in the manga with some more dialogue and a brief flashback of Kyo asking Tohru to come with him. -Part of Kyo and Kazuma’s conversation at the table was removed from the anime with Kyo still fuming over Kazuma’s horrible cooking skills. -Kyo’s hesitance to ask Kazuma about his parent-teacher conference was originally shown in Chapter 46 during one of Kyo’s visits to the dojo. Due to Chapter 52 being adapted earlier, the conversation was placed before the two see Tohru struggling to find food in the kitchen. -When Kazuma recalls how Kyo’s mood was the prior year, Kyo was shown to be dirty and bleeding from the mouth in the manga. -The scene with Kunimitsu telling Kazuma that Kyo’s father was on the phone was a bit longer in the manga, with Kazuma wondering why Kyo’s father wanted to talk with him at such an important time with Kyo. -In the manga, Kazuma and Kyo’s father are shown seated to the ground on their knees instead of a table and chairs. Plus, Kyo’s father is shown to be smoking during the scene. -After leaving Kyo’s father, the manga has an additional scene showing Kazuma in thought about not wanting Kyo to be back to how he was like in the past. -Momiji’s conversation with Tohru was inside her workplace in the manga. In addition, there’s a removed scene showing two of Tohru’s co-workers coming up to Momiji and wishing him good luck on whatever he’s doing as Yuki arrives on scene. Momiji was too occupied with the co-workers to see Tohru off. -After Yuki and Tohru arrived back home, Tohru had changed out of her school clothes in the manga and recalled having to prepare food for tomorrow’s meal before encountering Kyo. -Kyo’s speech about questioning his place in human society was a bit longer in the manga, where he doesn’t doubt Kazuma and Shigure has his circumstances in spite of seeming normal. -The sequence showing Tohru at different stages of her life as she thinks about her future was added for the anime. -A small bit of Yuki and Tohru’s conversation was removed from the anime that showed Yuki exchanging a smile with Tohru after she asked him to come eat soumen with everyone. But can at least tell you that should at least be getting revealed sometime in this season with the middle volumes of the manga getting adapted. |

| Tohru as lovable as always. <3 All the Kyo x Tohru moments were wonderful. It was nice to see Kazuma standing upto Kyo's father, that was very nice. The final scene was very heartwarming. Sometimes you just gotta start small and work your way up instead of worrying about the big picture. |

| what a heartfelt episode! especially love all the kyo scenes this episode being a big kyo stan myself lol.. anyways..i wonder what's gonna happen to kyo after he graduates..will he end up like the master's grandfather, or will he go down a different path? who knows..regardless, all that talk about the future that episode made me worried for my own in a few years haha. |

| Fruits Basket is definitely back. This episode had the characteristic feels and character development. This episode seems to have primarily focused on Kyo and Tohru, but it is indeed sweet looking at them. Kyo was so hostile early in the series, but now they seem so close and comfortable. Tohru's cute and precious as always. Who else can comment on how nice the sound of Kyo bumping her head was besides Tohru? |

| I've read a lot of spoilers online but I haven't read the manga itself. Damn, Kyo's dad is a fucking asshole. Kazuma is definitely best dad. So many Kyo x Tohru moments in this episode and I got to see Momiji again. |
