I just finished the 3rd EP and I'm currently debating weather to keep watching, I like that this show is grounded in realism but I need more substance.

After name dropping The Prince in the first EP I was hoping to see more cold pragmatism then what we've been shown so far, for instance the MC wants to get rid of his useless old ministers and replace them with new ones, which is fair but a Machiavellian storyline would have these ministers resent him for replacing them and plot against him. The king would then have to stop them before they can challenge his power for example by implicating them in crimes and executing them.

I'm not expecting anything that brutal but so far there's been no conflict and I don't really want to get anymore invested in a show that's going to be 3 more hours of peasant land tax reform.

I agree everything is going incredibly smooth so far. There really isn’t any conflict at all. I’m hoping a conflict of some kind will come soon. I’m enjoying the build a kingdom they're doing but it could use some political conflict or atleast some military conflict from the demon lord or another country.

They can only keep doing what they’re doing for so long, so I’m sure it will come soon

So far this is a "for kids" type of a fairytale in my opinion. Dumb king who abdicates the throne and EVERYONE seems fine with such development. No rebellions or uprising; no intrigue. Where are the lords? Shouldn't they come to the new king and swear allegiance or something? Are there no influential, rich lords who'd like to form own nation perhaps and succeed? Maybe I'm asking too much from a "kids show"?
I mean, they have TV-like broadcasting magic that is EXTREMELY convenient! Can you imagine how hard and time-consuming it would be to send messages all across the kingdom and inform population about reforms and various changes? Oh, and all the races everywhere seem to be talking 1 language. This is lazy writing I'd say. Same with the changing of ministers. Everyone just loves and trusts and listens to the MC... Those ministers likely lost their biggest source of income and were likely elected because of lineage, through corruption and bribes as usual; but now they'll just fade from the picture... If only people/things were that simple, right?

Honestly at this point you should invest in the LN, you can’t get through a chapter without him quoting Machiavelli.

Yes, it will get Macchiavellian...soon.
Expect political triple-crosses and spies.
The Hero isn't evil, but he is a bit manipulative.
