I have the feeling that this show would have a higher score if it was 𝐻Ǝ𝒩𝒯𝒜𝐼, regardless of the torture scenes people would have been more satisfied if it was more "graphic", and with less story so people are not bored about.

MAL is the perfect place to shit talk about people's opinions.

The point to be taken was that it's basically a hentai. Every episode has at least one explicit sex scene. They don't show the genitals so you can call it a softcore hentai.

It is tho lol. It's just at that sweet spot where it's softcore enough to benefit as a TV release. This adaptation wouldn't have gotten the treatment to be worth it as another hentai OVA release.

It has more plot than most of the other "real" hentai so I still think it's a safe choice to have put it like that, especially for its visibility, but I sure would have preferred it if it was full hentai, anyway I still consider it as a hentai xD

It really wasn't supposed to be a HƎNTAI, even if it's not very far from being one, different from the other animes, through many indecent characteristics and stene, but the main idea behind it is simple that of a "hero" who does justice/revenge.

I don't think it would matter what genre you placed it under, the reviews would have been the same.

When the main protagonist (the supposed "hero" of the story) tortures people, rapes women, alters their memories, has one women gang raped to death while he enjoys a meal and forces 2 sisters to commit incest...then it's not surprising why people would give it a bad score.

The Healer reminds me a lot of Ramsey Bolton from Game of Thrones and not in a good way as at least Ramsey paid the price for his actions in the end. The Healer on the other hand is basically just touring the land raping and torturing all the people who have wronged him in some way with absolutely zero consequences...once again this is the protagonist of the story that's doing this, not the villians ...the protagonist...

The Healer has became the very thing he hates and his quest for revenge has been pretty much pointless. Now if this was the moral of the story the author was trying to covey then I probably would have appreciated the story a bit more. However, it is not the moral of the story. The moral of this story is far more juvenile in the sense that its pretty much saying two wrongs make a right. The whole thing feels like some 13 year olds fan fiction not that of an established author.

I am thinking how this show was allowed to air on a public Tv in Japan? Considering that it was outright denied everywhere abroad ( outside payed/prorn services) i am thinking that Japan censor board is MEGA incompetent OR there is undertable MONEY offered. I am betting on the bribing.
So yes it is a Hentai masked as an ecci anime and it is not supposed to air on a public broadcast.. Those who allowed it can commit a Harakiri for the damage it has done :)
