A satisfying end. Very, very good manga. Don't know why they haven't made anime adaptation of this yet. Could make a good movie since it isn't too long. Character development is done so nicely. No questions left unanswered. Art is very good. Reminded me of several other works like "dangers in my heart", characters are drawn so cute (sometimes too cute and easing tension or dread) but that didn't make it worse at all.

Back to the plot. Mi finally awakens! So glad they didn't leave us hanging with just hopes she'd wake up one day. It'll be a long way for her to recover, but she'll be surrounded by best friends imaginable (mom may need to chill in the corner a little). I just pity she lost so many years of her youth and will have to catch up with others her age, be it physically or mentally. Then there's education... ugh... let's not ruin joy thinking about these things; they'll manage it somehow with such loyal supporters.

Sahara and Ren became a couple! Feels good for her.
Sad Satou was rejected, but is going out with Mei who's likely all tsundere about it. I thought Chiaki was interested in him, but apparently she doesn't really care about romance yet, which is totally understandable. Was fearing she'd be all alone and depressed towards the end too (while everyone else gets BF/GFs). Glad a giant f-ing stone finally fell from her heart seeing Mi conscious again; this actually made me the happiest. Chiaki deserves all the happiness. Mi's brother seems to be liking her, we saw some chemistry between them in nurse's office, but that was all. Hard to say if it'll work out. Once again, romance wasn't that important here, considering all the suffering Chiaki endured.

Now that I think about it, it was obvious MC wasn't dead in the very first chapter when they showed notes on his school-desk saying "get well soon", but later there was the announcement from teacher saying Sahara died! Is it common is some countries to lie about a person dying because they're in a terrible condition and may never wake up?! In my small country it's virtually impossible to hide someone's death like that. Dunno how "correct" such decision is, especially when Mi's mom (after years passed) still called Chiaki a murderer. You could argue it helps non-family-members to move on quicker, but I don't know... I still find it cruel towards close friends. At least the reveal must've been like seeing a miracle!

Author's extra chapter (16.5) ending with grown up Sahara and Mi was a cherry on top.

Under first impression it's 10/10. Maybe I'll change it to 9/10 later, but certainly not gonna go lower :D

Good read.

Wwww this kind of ended in a way that get real and meaningful it was a little disappointing that there wasn’t much of a sense of grandeur but I réalisé that is what makes it so great because it’s real and characters you could really relate to and understand why they feel that way, great manga 9/10

I suppose he did it instinctively after seeing Mi in the middle of the road all of a sudden.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it was some kinda of visual hallucination, even if he himself couldn't see ghosts. Especially if it was the same road he left her in. It might seem too random that it happened at that specific moment, but it could've been any other time he walked down that road, triggering the story's conflict.
In general, I really, really enjoyed it, especially how the protagonist feels. I've never felt a bigger need to actually write something in a forum than rn. The whole thing about Sahara being annoyed that others couldn't act independently from him, because they came to him for advice and the feeling that if something went wrong it would be his fault is something I can fully empathize with. This led to him pushing others into making decisions they weren't exactly very happy to make, such as showing others Taku's manga, because he wanted him to be confident in his own drawings. It's a position that I recognize, especially because he clearly isn't void of blame for the consequences of his actions. It also led to others recognizing that because he's clever, whether on purpose or subconsciously, he made people kill their feelings over things that affected them, because they didn't want to blame him, and he didn't want to take the blame, but also felt he was at fault... geez.
I love it, it's definitely not for everyone. I also love the use of an unreliable of narrators, and the use of expressions, especially Chiaki, that serve as a red-herring until you begin to figure out that her way of expressing herself is different to others. It uses our own personal biases against us.
Certain characters do definitely remind me of certain people around me, because most people fit into a category of relying on or being relied upon in an unequal fashion, which becomes especially true if you have a small community you can't quite escape from, as new friendships would be harder to make, and you deal with the cards you got handed.
