I recently finished the first season of this show and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I see that there are quite a few more seasons/movies of the series and was just wondering from fans if it's worth watching the whole thing or if there is a quality dip/consensus that most viewers can stop at an earlier point. I'm at a point in my life where watching a series with multiple seasons if I was not watching the first when it came out feels rather intimidating, so I wanted to make sure the rest was just as fun/investing.

No imo 1 > 4 > 2 > Final > 3 > 5. It kinda drags out near the end

I would argue it gets a little worse as it goes on but it doesn't fall off. It's intriguing amd worth to watch all of it. Highly reccomend you to watch the other seasons and stop if you don't like it it.

@D_D_DJ Well, we only live so long, so I feel like I want to devote more time to things that I will enjoy watching rather than just watching to watch. People seem to agree that the majority of the series is good though, so I'll give it a shot.

If 5 people said it was garbage after season 1, and you trusted your future viewing to the opinion of others, you would miss out on something possibly excellent. I never understand these ‘should I watch whatever‘ threads, it allows trolls to dictate your lifestyle.
Personally I think it keeps to a decent standard to the end with many great tunes as well as rivalries and friendships.

For me it got better for a while there then it started kinda falling off, but the direction of the story always made sense. Still worth the watch I think and I felt it stayed consistently interesting.

@FutoiOtaku I'm just trying to get a general vibe of the rest of the series. I see that it has six seasons of various lengths and multiple spin-offs. If a lot of people said that they didn't like it past X point or that a certain season was very bad I'd at least want to take that into account if I decided to go through the whole thing. If I am going to be influenced by anyone I might as well ask other people's opinions rather than looking at a score (which many find arbitrary) or just reviews (which can also be written by trolls).

I kinda get it, but I guess I’m an old fashioned type with trust issues. I’d rather drop a show 3 eps in than not even see any of it with my own eyes. But I also have a lot of spare time, so your point is valid if you don’t. I just see so much negativity on MAL for things that I personally love, I find it hard to believe a word anyone writes.

@FutoiOtaku And I totally get where you're coming from with that. MAL can definitely be a very toxic place to have a discussion, especially the more popular/highly ranked a show is. Truthfully I think I have been convinced more to watch shows all the way through that I personally didn't enjoy at all in the end (mostly through reviewers) than the other way around, which is kind of funny. I do have much less spare time than I used to which is why I made this thread to fish out if it was worthwhile. I'm sorry a lot of the shows you love are viewed negatively here, I know that's not a fun feeling. If you ever wanted to chat shows we both watched and enjoyed I always welcome a fun discussion!

I’d say first is the best, but there are certainly some amazing moments throughout

I remember binging all the seasons till 6 am. At some point my flatmate woke up and looked at me like a weirdo and said „Did you sleep at all????“. So to answer your question…. Yes haha the rest was good.

Definitely continue! Season 2 is shorter and has less battles but there’s a lot of character development, especially for Itsuki

If you enjoyed the first season, then I highly recommend continuing your adventure with Initial D anime. Its next seasons present high quality and are extremely fun to watch, with many epic moments and funfacts about cars. Though, truth to be told, the first season is the most iconic one, haha.

Tbh i'd stop as soon as project D starts.

From that point it just gets super repetitive with no interesting plot other than plot armor.
