| After a brief 4 year wait we finally have the SK8 OVA. For a mere 25 minutes it was really fun and beautifully animated. The game of karuta at the start was perfect for Reki x Langa fans. The second segment was hilarious all of the way through with the battle between Kaoru and Kojirou. The third segment was honestly really unique with the side by side of their days and of course really funny too. The Hiromi segments were a nice bonus. Only thing missing was skating but for that we will just have to hold on until season 2. |

| Surprisingly fun even with almost no skateboard scenes, this ova served also as a pretty good reminder what the cast of this show is, can't wait for season 2 |

| Pretty fun episode! No skateboarding action but we got some karuta, mock battles and the parallel between Ainosuke-san and Kikuchi-san was on point, lol. No matter how much I try to be like one, I always end up being like the other, lol. I’m sure you all know what I’m referring. |

| Very cute and enjoyable. Love the end credit animation. Each segment was entertaining. So good to see our boys again. Loved seeing the younger Joe and Cherry. They interact just as I imagine they would. |
| It was a nice slice of life episode featuring the characters and Adam is still flamboyant as ever. I also liked the fantasy themed ED. |

| This was the content the fans of this show needed, and I'm honestly thrilled by it. The way Ichiro Okouchi and team established those parallels and delivered prime ADAM fanservice... I'm so glad I'm a SLAYYYTER fan the association keeps on associating, folks. |

| The 3 ships 😍😍😍. I wanted more lovey dovey scenes but oh well, I liked it anyway 🤭🤭. Reki and Langa on each other's backs 😍😍, Kojiro and Kaoru competing over everything 😍😍 (a toddler Reki walking with a friend passing by 🥰🥰), and Adam with Tadashi together at night, because Tadashi spent all day sleeping after some hard sessions the last days it may seem 🤭🤭 |

| Reki and Langa are best buds, but for Miya to join them at the former's place out of bad weather, and filling in Karuta cards amongst the chaos of his siblings, it's Reki's younger sister that starts the game going, upping the ante to pay a rather fierce competition. The punishment to get ice cream while on piggyback to walk a far distance, both Reki and Langa sure had their bromance going for that. Kaoru and Kojiro having fun in school, though their rivalry remains one and the same no matter what they do. Just two dudes having a love-hate relationship, though skateboarding is just the start of their serious passion. The parallels of daily duties between Ainosuke and Tadashi is interesting...though the former is one of discipline, and the latter is just sleeping until late in the day. That's until they convene together to form the very first judged skating "S" competition. And Hiromi...other than his nice guy persona according to his florist job, why does everything turn to wreck when he turns into Shadow lols. Nice fantasy ED, and an overall enjoyable OVA. Even though this is Bones Film, it's essentially still Bones at the heart of it, just with corporate restructuring of their animation division. |

| Really love the first 2 parts, reki langa and miya interaction is so wholesome lol... (karuta? Is that a chihaya reference??) hey what do you mean it ends with renga looking up at a rainbow Kaoru and kojirou encounter a tiny reki LOL I do not need to see adam on screen unless it's him being punched in the face |

| There’s something irreplaceable about the feeling of raindrops, the cozy atmosphere, and that earthy that fills the air. I don't know how people Trade that for middle east desert heat? For example Dubai dazzle with its luxury, but it just can't compete with the rain-soaked days of Okinawa |
| Had to google a summary of season 1 - read about the two guys that now were shown back in school. And remembered. Surprisingly I rememberd the guy from the flower shop immediately when watching this episode. I though it was longer since season 1 when it is just about 4 years. Looking forward to the next season. Usually I go with 1 lower than the main show (8) - for special episodes. But I really liked this one. Going with 8 as well. Especially the "morning routine" part at the end was nice lol. |

| Miya became fast friends with Reki & Langa, and ended up with a potential love interest in the form of Reki's younger sister, of course big bro Reki will be there to stand in the way. But it's nice to see the gang once again, I can't wait for second season! |

Their love-hate dynamic is as strong as ever, and while their banter is fun to watch, skateboarding still remains their ultimate shared passion. Ainosuke and Tadashi, meanwhile, offer an intriguing contrast. Ainosuke is all about order and discipline, while Tadashi... well, he’s still in bed past noon. Yet somehow, their wildly different lifestyles converge when they come together to launch the very first judged “S” skating competition—a fresh spin on what was once underground and wild. Then there’s Hiromi, the gentle florist with a dual life. Behind his friendly, soft-spoken demeanor lies the chaos of Shadow, whose entrance always seems to flip the scene upside down. It's hilarious, unpredictable, and totally on-brand. The fantasy-style ending theme was a whimsical touch, rounding off what turned out to be a really enjoyable OVA. Despite being credited as Bones Film, this project clearly retains the heart and soul of Studio Bones—just with a bit of corporate rebranding in the animation division. Score: ★★★★☆ (8/10 on MAL).
