But the first episode did end with them saving that woman from jumping off the building, so it seems they’ve squashed episodes 1 and 2 together. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched both the series and the movies so I can’t give a lot of details of what’s different etc. The episode does start out just like the original TV series with Madoka dreaming about Homura, but I’m not sure if it uses the animation from the movie or a mixture of both. |

I guess it is just a re-edited version then. I know some anime in the past have made new OP/EDs for when they had a second broadcast so I thought they might do something similar. Makes sense for the first episode to skip over the OP/ED as they had to cram 2 episodes worth of content into 1 episode. |
