Jujutsu is finally back with its big third season, and it seems TOHO actually gave the team a decent schedule this time, even a split cour... though, if Dandadan's fucked up production thanks to it's special premier thing is anything to go off of, these movie release gimmicks really just hurt the production more than anything. Regardless, glad to see that iconic Gosso Vision is still around too; pretty sure he boarded this episode. Hopefully it won’t just last for the first few like last time though lol. Jokes aside, it really looks like things might be more stable behind the scenes now. Having a new AniP with Seshimo is a good sign, and since CSM isn’t under his line, that’s a relief too. From the two episodes they’ve shown so far, things definitely look more polished.

We pick up right where we left off with Yuuta, but first, gotta say, Yuuji and Choso are such a great duo. They’ll be carrying this season for a bit, and it’s nice seeing their dynamic animated. The big early focus here though is Naoya also coming after Yuuji. Yeah, in case it wasn’t clear, the jujutsu world is not the same anymore, and Naoya’s really as annoying as I remembered from the manga. Dude really out here doing his best Gojo impression with that fake “I don’t care” attitude during his fight with Yuuji and Choso. Actual clown xD

Whole thing with Yuuta though, he's actually taking his stuff seriously. Just in terms of cursed energy output, from what I remeber he’s technically stronger than Gojou, but Gojou’s still way more broken in versatility. Yuuta’s power isn’t very cost efficient either, his attacks are strong but drain a lot, so most of his moves are meant to end fights quickly. That makes him dangerous in a different way, especially given his colder personality. Yuuji has a shot against him... but yeah, well lol.

And ofc, Choso continues to be the MVP. No surprise there, and it’ll stay that way for most of the season. Definitely invest in Choso stocks, he’s the only tolerable one till a certain gambler shows up. Solid start overall, just setting up what’ll be an action heavy season ahead.

Dandadan was fucked up not thanks to special premier, but because they had to finish all eps at once half a year before broadcast

It's still Seshimo line, lol, both PDs are the members of Seshimo's team and Seshimo himself was actually an AniP, just went NC for some reason. The comment on KeyFrame explains the details

There's a cam rip with subtitles on that big anime torrent website. I normally wouldn't watch cam but I heard the animation was really good and I needed something to cleanse my pallet after One Punch Man season 3. My only gripe with the rip is that someone's head was there but otherwise it looked ok and the subs really helped. Animation is absolutely incredible.

Just saw Execution in cinemas and man did they cook on this animation! Mappa must have an infinite budget or smth with both this and Chainsaw Man releasing close to one another…

Now we just gotta wait until January for more😔😔

Once again amazing visuals for the OP, the song however has to grow on me.

Honestly 10/10 premiere. It was so satisfying finally seeing Okkotsu and Itadori meet, and in such a stylish and epic manner too. That early shot of Okkotsu landing on Itadori with his sword was really beautiful and the following fight was really unique for the series with the flowing sword style as opposed to the usual energy based fighting. The meeting with the Zen'in brothers was honestly really amusing and Naoya quickly became an enjoyably hateable character. His Kansai accent, women-hating attitude and false confidence were all brilliantly undone in his fight with Choso. Great episode all round.

Great animation but why did they fuck up some of the cool manga panels. They fucked up yuta's entry, bro literally looks zesty. And when ruka grand yuji is a great panel too but they didn't do justice to that in the anime.

Seen the movie. Would love to use this instead to thank Mappa for bringing this masterpiece of a manga to live. There's no second of the episode that felt cheap. No time to blink eyes. If you did, you would miss the amazing action whether it's a dialogue between characters or an actual brawl, they never used cheap methods. The plottwist comes around episode 2. I can't wait for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 to start and Maki to shine like she's never before.
This is a season where all fans of each character will get what they've been asking. The time for curses is over, it's now humans trying to off other humans. A.K.A THE CULLING GAME ✅️

Gege Akutami's Jujitsu Kaisen is back after 2 years since the Shibuya Incident, and it's fair to say that things are not looking teh same in the Jujutsu world anymore.

King Gnu's OP is good, but this is to be expected for the Shonen series that has really picked up its paces since its beginnings.

Even after the Shibuya Incident, Naoya Zennin really has grown to become the irritable prick, though Yuji and Choso's partnership has grown to quite the familiarity. However, Choso recognizing Okkotsu's presence in their fight coming after Yuji fending off Naoya, and this is a big fight since Satoru Gojo's disappearance. Even worse, is Yuta joining in the fray against the fight against Yuji, and is the disciple of Satoru Gojo going to have his life end early before him?

jo0ji's debut Anisong is crazy good, I must admit.

Gore, blood and violence...welcome back JJK onto the anime scene.

The opening of the year!
Gosho, Yajima, Niwa, and Yamasaki created something visually breathtaking, standing far apart from the old OP aesthetics.

This is what an opening is meant to be: a visual stage that builds anticipation and prepares you for what’s coming next.

JJK is back and the start of downfall.
@MegamiRem I'm sure anime onlies gonna think the ending is fine, even though manga readers treated it like the world's end.
Imagine normies saying: "Peaky Blinders is mid and overhyped. Just another typical crime drama show. Breaking Bad is much better.". Or: "Without action choreography no one would've cared about John Wick. Kingsman, on the other hand, is not like other action franchises!".

Holy Gosso Cinema. Gorgeous OP visuals as well as the banger song by King Gnu.

The start is as perfect as I could've hoped it would be. So good. Cinematic. Yuji's scenes were so well done. Everything was done well. Beautiful animation. Incredible boards. Action was pristine as well. But the somber moments were the best. So good. Yuji dead. RIP.

im almost sure the anime only fans will enjoy the culling games more than the manga readers that hated it again just like how it went with my hero academia and attack on titan

I really took the art of the first season for granted
CGI is really grating to the eye and it just keeps getting worse
Occasional good proper art only makes the bizarre CGI moments stand out even more and it's messing with my sense of immersion

Other than that, pretty nice start. I already like Naoya more than other asshole characters

@deg There is a difference because JJK writing really is bad and you can see that from the second episode.

JJK's problem is not like MHA or AOT. We need to accept that

We're back with Jujutsu and with it comes a blood bath so be ready to wash your hands.

The somber presence throughout the whole episode sets us up on how dire the circumstances are. Not only with the different camera shots that sometimes tries to do in vain to show authority or fear but also the sakuga big impacting shots in battle. It's time for Okkotsu to come back into the spotlight after 0 came out all those years ago. Also Naoya is actually more competent than he seems.

I like the animation from the opening but the song will need some time to get used to. The ending is fine for now, artistic for sure.

Already so much happened this episode. Itadori's mom came to help him from the dark? Very interesting. The color palette is so diverse and I love it so much. I was literally shivering the entire time because of the suspense this episode had. Why didn't the other 2 Zen'in members go against Naoya to become the head? What's his cursed technique? So many questions...

Naoya in anime form is even more punchable than I thought. Can't wait to see him on the ground. Him messing with his hair while fisting Choso was disrespectful af lol.

Yuta just appearing and changing the color of the city was epic though idk why they made him pose kinda zesty like lol. This ep we really see the how strong Yuji has gotten, but then a special grade like Yuta still completely dominates him if they want to.

Also yeah Yuji died again.

I also accidentally watched the next ep before this so was like wtf did they just offscreen Yuta vs Yuji.

I knew Yuta was strong, but I didn't know they feared him like Gojo. Wonder why Yuta is so fixated on killing Yuji? Was kinda expecting him to have a little bit of sympathy since he was in a similar situation once, having an execution sentence and all.

@Uncrow Aside from CGI backgrounds (which were arguably worse in season 1) there is no CG character animation. It's just that the modern animation style tries to look like that.
