Who needs Oshi no Ko idols when you’ve got boy band idols? That’s something I’ve been wanting to see in anime for a while now. And yeah, sure making the main boy band guy pathetic is... a choice. I’m usually down for a pathetic male lead, but this is on a whole other level. Like... my god lol. But honestly, if dumpster-fire Oshi no Ko is the only other idol-focused thing out there, I’ll take what I can get. Male lead issues aside, the female lead isn’t bad at all. I like her comedic tone, and the fact that the idol she’s “burned into her retina every day” turns out to be, this is pretty funny lol. These type of Idol/fan stories are always hard for me to fully get into, since that kind of dynamic would go so badly in real life that it’s tough to suspend my disbelief. There’s a reason celebrities usually date other celebrities. Fun start overall. Could get boring if it doesn’t change things up, so I’m hoping they switch it up as it

U-NEXT / dAnimeStore early streaming. Winter 2026 starts off, with quite the idol sensation! From the author of Takane and Hana, mangaka Yuki Shiwasu premieres into the anime scene with her most recent work! The clear popularity of the idol group F/ACE with its leader Tamon Fukuhara, and arguably his biggest fan/oshi being the 16-year-old high school girl Utage Kinoshita, she got a break with her part-time housekeeping job to help work at the place of the biggest idol she's a fan of...yet, he's NOT like the shiny leader he is on the outside, being a VERY recluse and worrywart faker at home. Yet, Kinoshita doesn't let that faze her, and even amps that to the nth degree of worship for him, despite his self-imposing worries of his character at work that's decided by his agency. No doubt that the members of F/ACE are all handsome Ikemens at that, but it's the housework and the character's face that's putting both Tamon and Kinoshita on edge. To have one of the biggest idol's members consult his biggest Oshi at that, Kinoshita sure is doing the job better than Tamon's agency who only cares for his overall image. Yet, Tamon just getting all the more worried that Kinoshita has to essentially rip off his band-aid, and even get exposed by his manager in the process, it's only for that moment, but it felt like the wish that started and ended at the same time. F/ACE's Dome concert being the envy of the fangirls, along with J.C.Staff's rather good 3DCG for that matter, time may be short, but Kinoshita having touched Tamon more than anyone does to the point that he can't forget about her, this is going to be quite the secret drama! F/ACE's OP is good, and swinging! Yelp, watching these two idiots of a fan supporting her idol, and the back-and-forth drama, this is going to be good!

Well, seems like J.C. Staff put everyone with talent on this instead of OPM. And the budget was more than five bucks per episode which is probably the critical factor here.

How tf did this anime have a better production than OPM?! F/ACE's 3DCGI looked neat too, only on its first episode! 🤣 Eh, not a fan of Supernova ho, as I'm quite tired already with producers sampling Robin S' iconic Show Me Love hook/riff. But I guess it's pretty understandable if their goal is to sell the idol group as well. 😅 Hoping the production remains consistent until the season finale x

@StarBloom_64 You cut off where it says "Previewed: Jan 1, 2026" and also somehow missed the text on the page reading "Each episode was streamed three days in advance of the TV broadcast starting on January 1, 2026, on Crunchyroll, U-NEXT, and Anime Hodai. Regular broadcasting began on January 4, 2026." Although it's still December 31 here and in a lot of the world, MAL uses Japan time zones, which is why it says January 1. MAL won't count it as "airing" until it's shown on TV, because being legally available to watch doesn't count as "airing" to MAL for some reason.

smh. JC Staff cooked as expected. but of course, they won't do something good for OPM 3. anyways, back to this. I don't mind shoujo being sweet and sugary but damn, was that first episode cheesy and something else. the out of this world glaze and dickriding of Tamon and the FACE boys is wild. it's just the first episode so I'll see if the glaze will decrease by ep 6 or not. Tamon being pessimistic and not having self confidence since he's lying to everyone is understandable, I don't hate that. but Utage...the glaze was funny and hilarious and her VA is fantastic too (same VA as Stella from Gnosia which is a W). the out of this world glaze and dickriding will get stale eventually tbh but I'll wait and see. all in all, a very cheesy first episode of a shoujo anime but it was funny, the animation is colorful and good, and the VAs are good. nice.

Yeah, I added the part about the budget because it's obvious that J.C. Staff can do much better. And they really did here, it does look great. I was wary the second I saw rhe CGI because of Wandance (although they oretty much fixed it by the end) but even that part looks really good. |

I'm out of words... THATS ONE OF THE BEST FIRST EPISODES I'VE SEEN like... ever. It kinda blew my mind how fast pased this was and still managed to convey all the emotions it tried to. In fact the plot of this episode alone could have been a excellent movie by itself. The main couple is INSANE adorable AND funny. The animation is really really good and the songs were bangers. Really... not a single bad thing to say about this start. I hope the rest of the season stay as good as this. What a start for 2026

| HOLY PRODUCTION QUALITY. Im usually not the type to enjoy idol shows but this may be an exception. Saori hayami killing it as always coupled with the random overblown moments of super good animation, the characters are great aswell. Really looking forward to the rest of this one. | @uselessDM I really tire of seeing JC Staff solely get the blame for the results of OPM S3, and no mention of Bandai Namco, lacking the idea of a potential situation, such as, that they were ordered to build a house, given a forest of under-developed trees, told to not use tools, and have it done in a week, it's going to be a shitty house. Bandai Namco made all of the decisions, JC Staff may not be a god-tier studio, but they're competent and capable when given the proper resources, their repertoire is quite broad, although fluctuating in quality. @Yhoto this guy gets it This was a really enjoyable first episode, from what I read about the manga, it doesn't seem to be a one-note story. Cheers and Happy New Years~ |

Decent first episode. I feel like the comedy is a bit forced, but it’s still a fairly unique premise that I haven’t really seen before in anime, so I think I’ll stick with it and see how it goes. I kinda love how the heroine literally visited the protagonist once, and now he’s already like, “I need you”, haha. I’m also a bit curious about why the subtitles keep saying “oshi” whenever the heroine says it, even though it literally just means “star”, as in an artist. Why can’t they just translate it? I mean, I know what it means, so it’s fine, but people who don’t ain't going to get it.

I don't think the VA matches the female lead all too well, hardly matters though, since I won't be watching any further. Vicariously living through another is just not that funny, thought it would at least get a little laugh out of me when they met and interacted, but the dynamic doesn't really interest me either. Dropped.

@Skuvan I feel like most people watching and interested in it would know what oshi means given it appeals to idol fans Also i dont think star would be the best replacement if they were to do so, i feel like "my favorite" would be better

I just watched it up to 13:10, but the animations, the graphics, even the CGI really different from some male idols I've been supported, watch, or play. I can see that JC Staff puts a lot of efforts for this anime. I've read the manga and find myself attach already. I can't wait for how they will animate the rest of episodes TT *note: please don't read this part but, TAMON, I LOVE YOU!!!

@juliayousoro I don’t really know the literal meaning of the word, I only said that because, as you mentioned, we’re idol fans. I think most idol fans have seen Oshi no Ko, which literally means “star child”, or something along those lines. That’s why I said it would kind of make sense. As for “my favorite”, I ain't sure what that would be in Japanese at all. However, I’ve heard “my beloved” many times across different anime, and it’s usually said or pronounced as "itoshii". If Utage had said that instead, it would make sense, but in this case, I personally prefer “star”.

I love Tamon already! Also the female MC! I mean as someone who is currently into a specific boy group, and also have her own oshi (teehee) I could relate with this show greatly...and believe me, Utage's reactions and expressions are not even exaggerating. It truly shows how I am just watching my bias/idol's shows and concerts, and how I will be if I did get to see his downside IRL 😉🥰🤭

The animation team did such a fantastic job in delivering the first episode while giving the manga so much justice. The animations and even CGI which don't often tend to blend seamlessly in other animations was done INCREDIBLY WELL. The voice acting, the animation, opening song and OST 10/10 as a big fan I am really happy and satisfied with the start and can't wait for more. I already need an announcement that more seasons are in production!
