| this is a re-read for me from probably over a decade ago now i remember it feeling a bit aimless but not this bad the story makes no sense the author is 100% just winging it swinging around blindly in the dark going from one momentary crisis to the next there have been good moments here and there but it's impossible to take this thing seriously when it can't even decide on its own plot there's so much exposition some of the major characters, like kiriko and the pathetic 40yo shut-in guy, are very fun and i remember being obsessed with her but i don't see how i can stick with this thing just for her and she keeps getting sidelined by this messianic gunman anyway the further this thing gets from the 4 core characters the less i want to read it This whole section is tiresome you're not The Walking Dead you're not pulling it off sorry the author spelled out the mystery in the first like two chapters and now they're grasping at straws trying to keep the plot moving without any idea of where to actually take it look Give kiriko a sword already that's all i want that's what will save this awful manga for me kiriko with a samurai sword and absolutely no messiah-shaped guardrails for the resulting consequences such a thing will have for her and everyone else that's literally it thanks bye |
