| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Why isn't there a topic for this? Anyway, Reinhard and Kircheis caught the commander of the base. As a result the former is to be promoted and is agonizing over the possibility of being separated from his friend and ally. I liked the cameo by Reuenthal and Mittermeyer. My favorite scene, though, was Schenkopp reciting the poem a long lost lover apparently taught him. I'm assuming it's the mother of a certain daughter who shows up in the series proper. |

| I was hoping for Reuenthal to ask Mittermeyer who Reinhard and Kircheis are, because i remember this same scene as a flashback from the main OVA. |
| Was happy to see Reuenthal and Mittermeyer. Also it looks like Brook is a woman beater on top of everything else. He makes me sick. |

| Watching this Gaiden really make me to miss 'old' character, now those are Reuenthal and Mittermeyer.. I am just remembering that Yang's appeareance was still cameo too, we are still yet to hear his voice actor.. Yang didn't do something amazing thing in this war either, he is really a late started than Reinhard.. I forget how he was in the really beginning of 110 episodes OVA, was he already a great commander at that time ... |

| He was at least a commodore. However, compared to Reinhard, he at this point had zilch ambition as well as the very able Bucock having two very able advisors anyhow. Furthermore, as we see later with the other series despite having a serious knack for strategy and tactics, he was ignored as a piece of furniture due to the incompetence, arrogance and jealousy of the admirals he served under. It's a common theme not even Oberstein or Schenkopp could elude. Not to mention, the VA was deceased when this series was running... in a way it lended an atmosphere of the powerlessness of making the best use of talent in the stifling bureaucratic climate of the FPA as well as the draining futility of changing it. |
