| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- A pretty exciting episode even if obviously they won't let Yamato be hit seriously before taking off. They kept building up tension nicely with the failed engine starts. |

| I wasn't expecting a ship's tour but it was interesting: it has everything expected from the 60s-70s sci-fi build (although the placing felt a bit random). Just a little problem: they went outside without suits. Apart from the "super large missile" (errm, couldn't take that name seriously each time they said it) intrigue, the episode was useful despite how it delayed the real meat (the travel). The deck scene during the attempts was great. 4/5 @Faederwulf What are the remake OAVs problems? (people kept telling me to watch it instead of the Matsumoto TV series because it was the same in a better way) |

| Will probably never get over how 70s this is (the bell-bottom pants and disco guitar riffs always crack me up), but now the real story begins and I cannot wait to see more. |

| Also, I never noticed just how much other anime (mainly mecha) copied Yamato's main bridge. I guess ship bridges can't help but look similar, however I'm beginning to understand just how influential Yamato was. |
