| I watched the first episode and didn't really have too much interest in it, but might still want to watch it because it's so highly rated on this website. Why is it supposedly so good? |
| No offense, but judging anime from the first episode is outdated. Give it 2 or 3 more, you won't regret it. The gags in the upcoming episodes are awesome and the whole mentality of the show develops into something you haven't seen before. :) |

| I know what it is, he tries to kill himself by hanging himself, but the girl calls it trying to "grow taller" because her parents tried doing it too, yes I get it. |

It's one of my favorites, so obviously I'm quite fond of it, but if you weren't particularly interested after the first episode I wouldn't recommend continuing it - I thought the first episode was a pretty good representation of the style of humor and art and most other reasons people like the show. Enjoying it does require a sense of humor, after all =P |

| Honestly, I didn't think the first couple episodes (up to about 3 or 4) were that great either. But I've finished up to 8 now and I like it much better than I originally did. Not quite sure why it's rated that high either but maybe my sense of humor just doesn't quite swing in that direction :P |

| line of stalkers were in ep2 and yes that was funny as hell!! I thought that season was great from start to finish, there weren't an episode that failed to make me laugh. |

| i think this show is pretty good, but to find it truly awesome, i'm still missing too much references for total enjoyment you need: 1. insight in basic japanese culture and tradition. shounen series won't do for background information. 2. understanding and acknowledgement of the perverted side of japan, face it, modern japan has its freaks. 3. notices of japanese language and writing system 4. lots of anime references and such if you got this bagage, the awesomeness is within reach. |

Actually I was the same as you... I watched the first episode, and didn't really like it... But I ended up watching more, and it turned out to be the right decision :D I think it was in episode 2 that I truly realized how awesome this series is. Watch some more... you will not regret it :D |
| I'm going to necromancy this thread, mostly because I'm amazed at most of the opinions presented here, which clash with mine. Repeatedly and horribly. I *loved* Episode 1. I did not, however, like the rest of the episodes. It was one giant downhill road from episode 4 onwards, a giant mill of rehash and empty space. Given how people are saying that the show grows onto you, it's not surprising that I'm surprised. I mean, what? |
