"Dianna's Desperate Fight"

I think I'm finally starting to understand why so many people like Dianna's character. She's put through the ringer & shows lots of determination. I also enjoyed the change of pace & scenery. It added more humanity to the show.

I agree. Dianna is my favorite character so far. I love her determination.. If only Sochie could learn from her example!

Queen Dianna and Gundam's laundering adventures. A nice episode, but plot is going nowhere fast.

Dianna is a wonderful character unlike Sochie who is annoying as hell.

And a Gundam as a washing machine. Who knew?!

So is Sochie in a way.

Wait, you don't see how this is important? Do you even realize what the show is trying to do here? Dianna learning how it is for the common people is kind of a big deal to the overall plot.

Anyway, great episode. And, yeah, I'm taking a liking to Dianna's character.

That was my favorite episode so far. Loran using the Gundam, typically used as a war vessel, to help people, specifically those hurt by the war, was very touching. That's the best metaphor in the show yet.

I also am beginning to really like how Dianna and Kihel switched places. As a queen, Dianna never got to see the human side of her politics. Every step in Kihel's shoes is a learning experience. Kihel, as a common person, is almost better suited to be queen because she knows what is best for the individuals she's over. She gets to grow as a person, too, and find her voice in her new position.

The opening is still really weird and the storytelling is flawed, but episodes like this make the show worth the time, I think. I really liked everything that was going on here.

The best thing in Turn A Gundam looks like a slice of life show, with some battles in the ending only to attract more public. It's pretty interesting to see a Gundam show with this characteristics.

Maybe Dianna will give up her life as a Queen and become a nurse? hahaha

Dianna is easily the best character in this show and Sochie is the worst, she's just getting more and more annoying each episode it feels like.

Even if the plot didn't move along this episode shows also need something called "character development" and this episode Dianna got lots of it.

man dianna and sochie really represent the best and worst of tomino's ability to write characters, dianna is everything he does right in one character with real humanity behind her, actual character development, and generally all around being endearing and likable, on the flip side sochie is all the things wrong with how he writes characters which really makes me angry cause shes the only character that bothers me in the show and it actually looked like she was gonna develop out of her obnoxious state a couple episodes ago but no shes just acting like the same old annoyance.

That said shes a minor spec on the series so far, and this was a dianna focused episode and fantastic one at that. Usually id be clamoring for the oppossite but in this case i really dont want to see kihel and dianna return to their previous positions anytime soon, im enjoying dianna and loran's dynamic and her experiences with seeing first hand the damage of the war.

Great episode. The Dianna and Kihel switch has always made me nervous-- anxious? This episode calmed me down considerably. The washing bit was actually a bit sweet. I love how Dianna is learning what's what. The royalty to rags type of situation doesn't always appeal to me, but Turn A really makes it work.
I really love how Loran is usually quick to help-- a bit of optimism and naivety; who knew it'd come off charmingly for Loran. Also, he pretty much does what he needs to do as a character; I dig that.

The episode is great for the characters and to get more war effects depictions. But being the 21st episode, I am starting to wonder if there will be any development in the conflicts (at least by episode 25).

Wow, Turn A can do anything from washing clothes to drying clothes. I wouldn't be surprised if it has WC built in the pilot seat like the one in G Reconguista.

Dianna is so humble in this episode. You can see Loran's reaction how much loyal he is to Queen Dianna.

Still don't get the hate for Sochie. She is stubborn and has strong feelings but I guess that hits too close to home for some people. I dunno, but I like her.

POV: three characters are talking in the beginning of the episode and you are just rotating a camera view from above

Those bubbles with Diana were cool, and the idea for this episode was great. The amputation scene was definitely the highlight of the episode, it actually *felt* intense (and I appreciate Diana's reactions)

The third party in the background is starting to have more relevance, I guess it'll be something akin to Haman entering the stage. Loran's "outsider" perspectives in the previews are still out of place though.

P.S. Lily's legs look like a tied up curtain. By the way, I have a feeling that she suspects something fishy about Diana (who's supposed to be Reinford's secretary, or maybe not already).

Dianna continues to be the best character in this, she put through quite alot of hardship but in turn grows from it and gets to see the struggles of the common earthling.

So this is where this image came from.

Loran's veneration for his Queen will never be not funny.
About Sochie: I agree that Dianna and Kihel are amazing and interesting characters, but realistically what is Sochie supposed to do? She's a young girl who got her father killed for no reason by some random moon people that came one day out of nowhere and started a devastating war. Not everyone has the privilege to know both sides of the conflict like Loran, Dianna or Kihel.

Sochie's issue is less the motivation itself, that all is justified in a bubble, but its more her inconsistency as a character with it around this point, 2 episodes ago this exact thing cause problems for everyone and killed a couple people in the process and it ended with her fully taking responsibility and opening up, but cut to this episode it kind of just feels like she regresses for no real reason when she should at the very least be showing some confliction on the matter.

In the running for my favorite Gundam series. This episode, along with so many others thus far, has done a fantastic job depicting horrible circumstances paired with characters with indomitable will. No matter how bad things get, care for your fellow human will always win out at the end of the day, etc, etc. This show is about a lot of stuff, and I'm not even halfway through it yet so I can't comment on the conclusions it draws, but wow, just another beautiful episode in a series of a lot of great ones.

Dianna is easily the best character or even my favorite in the whole franchise, she is really wonderful. It's interesting to see that both Dianna and Kiel are able to keep their switch roles this far. It's quite a joy to see Dianna stepping down from a queen into a lady that willing to live with the earth's people and sympathize with their struggles and hardship because of the war. Never thought how useful a Gundam hand as a washing machine. I really like the potential pairing between Loran and Dianna. It's getting more engrossing with each new episode.

This was a wonderful episode, helped to confirm my love for the character of Dianna, the best of the show and One of the most beautifully written in the franchise.
And even if funny, the scene of Loran using the Gundam, a machine created to kill, washing clothes, is one of the most powerful moments in the anime, and shows how good and kind loran is.
