Probably because many dropped the first season or didn't think it'd be worth to watch the second season after seeing the first one.

Hmm, I don't know about this anime, but now that I looked up it's synopsis and a few images, I realised that this anime has been used in A LOT of AMV's. I remember quite alot of scenes from it now. But to be honest, it's art style looks like yet another run in the mill anime, utilizing the HUGE eyes characteristic once again. That's kinda deterring me from looking into it any further...

Mostly because the first season was a kind of awkward adaptation, and most of the people who stuck with it until the end were those of us who had played the VN and thus knew how good it really was, but at the same time it didn't turn out to be a perfect adaptation overall anyway (although Refrain's adaptation was alright at least).

Pretty sure a very popular anime like Steins;Gate is also way weaker than his original material.
nah the anime is much better than the game, sure some bits are cut from if you focused on other girls but the anime made the story more consistent and also was greatly helped by giving okabe more character and helped boost the dialogue and character interactions as a result greatl, probably one of the best vn adaptions out there since the things it cut only hurt the story

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

Idk if it was straight-up better than the VN but I don't think it was any worse either. The loss of the optional endings don't really mean anything, and getting rid of the quite annoying cell-phone mechanic was only a good thing. Only things I missed in the anime was not using the crazy awesome art style the VN had and also that one scene where

But yeah Steins is pretty much the best VN adaptation ever, only second to Kanon 2006 in that regard

To be honest, i dropped the first season after watching the first episode thinking that it would be somewhat high schoolers playing baseball and shit but, after few months i decided to finish it because my hard drive was becoming full. After force through of 3 or 4 episodes, i was able to notice it was getting better. The first thing i realized was that J.C Staff made first season for second season to be somewhat tear jerking emotional. I think the first season provided strong image of friendship and connection with each member of the Little Busters.

It's a sequel to the most dropped show of 2012-2013, and the hype sort of died. The VN fanbase is big, but not nearly as recoverable in the West as it is in Japan. Japan's BD sales will likely be closer to season 1's, but if we compare how many people watched LB S1 to who watched the measly 1 cour sequel, it's not nearly as high of a % as Clannad -> After Story or something.

I think cutting out the bad endings that showed how fragile time was make the true ending more rewarding. I also think you can't get the true ending (episode 24 of the anime) without getting a normal ending where you pick between Kurisu and Mayuri on your first playthrough, iirc.

The bad budget and weak start of the show also hinders it even worse. Slow paced comedy when it's supposed to be over the top and actually funny is bad. Komari's route also isn't remarkable, and then it's followed up by a ton of other questionably decent slice of life.

I know someone who watched the anime entirely and hated Masato ,when he's supposed to be the center of comedy for Little Busters. She's playing the VN and finds him to be hilarious now along with other members of the cast who previously weren't funny. The VN just does a better job at not feeling silly in a "Why am I wasting my time watching this cheap anime?" way.

Meh. There's tons of factors, and many of them are with the heroines that are emphasized early on, and how season 1 was handled in every regard. The bros aren't relevant enough, and when Masato's around, he's annoying in the anime, but is still a favorite character from the VN for me. Go figure.

As a side note, I also hated Ayu in the anime Kanon 2006, and I'm glad I picked up the VN because she's so much better. She sounds more like Kaga from Golden Time (significantly older sounding), and she's a new favorite Key character of mine. I've become to realize how fragile things like character voice directing and interactions can change entire views of characters for better or worse. Basically, I hope to never watch a VN anime adaptation before seeing the source material (if I can), unless it's a hentai OVA.
