The art in this anthology is wonderful...and that's about where the wonder stops. Eclair collects stories from various yuri manga creators, most of which fall under the Slice of Life genre. The age choices that too many of these authors decided on were questionable at best. I have no problems with age gaps—like a 35-year-old with a 25-year-old is totally fine. In fact, I wish that were the case for most of the stories in Eclair.
About half of the stories consisted of an age 25-30y/o woman pursuing a high schooler or younger which is wildly inappropriate because they're at different stages in their lives—to a

Here's my take after reading the one-shot Shiawase wa Kizu no Katachi of Éclair: Anata ni Hibiku Yuri Anthology by Nio Nakatani.
After reading and catching up to the latest chapter of Yagakimi, I felt I needed to read more or something similar to it, and luckily I was able to read this one shot of Nio-san which also happens to be a part of a Yuri Anthology together with 16 other Yuri one-shots. Shiawase wa Kizu no Katachi or Happiness in a shape of a scar is such a beautiful story of Torii a high school student that despises Kai a timid piano genius. Since this is ... May 1, 2019
Well, to be honest I think that this manga is quite weak.
Just to put the manga into the context, all of the chapters are an individual story and all of them have been written by a different author. There are some that are fine and others that are quite lame. But in the end the big problem of this manga, at least for me, is that all the stories are way too short. Even if there are some good ideas to make an actual story the lack of development totally drags back your reading experience. So I would say that this manga is readable, but try to ... Aug 5, 2022
most of it was pretty good and i pretty much enjoyed the time i spent reading these short stories, even though some weren't really yuri...
however, there was just a creepy amount of little kids getting with grown adults. i know some people are ok with that type of stuff, but i find it really disturbing when it is portrayed in such a positive light what made it so bad was most of the adults knew that doing that type of stuff with little kids was wrong and felt bad about doing it but ended up doing it anyways. the grossest part was when a little girl ... This manga has a lot of short stories that are one chapter each. Each story is done by a different artist as well. So it doesn't matter what valume you start off with. Each story can go from something cute and wholesome, to something a little darker. It's honestly really cool to see some artists I've read from before and seeing them do one of the stories. Overall the stories are pretty good. But it is a anthology so some stories are better then others. It's kind of hard to rate because every story is so different from each other. Besides the once in a

I will admit some of these stories are pretty decent, but unfortunately it's pretty difficult to get heavily invested in a bunch of 20 page or so one shots. Some of the stories were amusing or pretty above average for a one shot, particularly the ones that got revisited across numerous volumes. Most of the stories do not get particularly explicit, stopping at a kiss at most in most cases.
My main topic for this review is that the Yen Press release is censored. While I understand the decision to censor chapters from the book, I personally do not agree with it. I believe there ... |
