Synopsis

Nobuko "Mobuko" Tanaka is not the type of girl to stand out in a crowd. Shy and often overthinking every situation, she has led a life with as little social interaction as possible. As a result, it seems like an impossible task for Nobuko to confess her feelings to her coworker Hiroki Irie, a reserved young man who helped her when she first started her new job at the supermarket.

However, after witnessing her junior colleague Abe exchange contact information with him, she finally summons up the courage to ask Hiroki for his number. Despite her timid nature, this one act of determination sets Nobuko on the path to becoming the protagonist she has always wanted to be while her budding romance slowly begins to blossom.

Nobuko is our shy girl on the cover. She started her part-time job at a supermarket and here she found your romantic pair, Irie a tall and education man with glasses, that once helped her during her first days when a customer asked her to carry heavy goods, he as a good gentleman has carried the merchandise in her place, since then she likes him, but he likes her? Or just see her as a co-worker? Is he really a gentleman? who knows.
Art: well done and the colorful pages really make me want to see an anime, but one step at a time.

It's your normal romance, slice of life manga, that is what I want to say. However, the problems in the story is not some triangle love or ridiculous misunderstandings, it is about being brave enough to confess to your crush, being strong enough to overcome the job hunting phases, etc. Yep that's this manga's drama. For a young adult like me, it was so relatable that it pained me sometimes. The character development here is such a natural and pleasant things to look at. This manga is a "Side Character's Love Story" in every sense of the word. You know the feeling you get when you see your favorite side characters being their best while the main characters are still floundering on? This is all that in series format.

Slice of life in its purest form with relatable struggles both minor or major.
I have just caught up to the story and I have yet to see a "real" social life crisis (although I'm sensing a welcome turning point in the latest chapters).
