KonoSugoi is an annual magazine aimed at finding out which is the best manga with content published in the year of the survey. The choice is made by a panel of judges from the manga and publishing industry, and often reflects works with a lot of potential for anime adaptation.

Due to the variety of opinions and the extensive amount of works, the list is divided between men and women. In this stack we will cover the choices of the female audience, since the origin of the awards.

Any female-oriented manga that primarily revolves around the lives of musical idols.

Note: I did not include any series that were overly explicit, or that I could not find much information about.

Manga that were published under the Shojo Beat/Shojo imprint by Viz Media.

An interest stack featuring the top 20 winners of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi!" (This Manga is Amazing! aka このマンガがすごい) annual magazine for 2020, with female and male winners included (so 40 winners total).

This stack will feature both male and female category winners, alternating between the female and male winners, from first place to twentieth place.

Note that there can be ties here (usually two-way), and if a category is missing some place (for example, missing 14th place in the male's category), it usually indicates that either its title was not revealed as per the author's request, or there was a tie.

I'm defining "modern" Shojo and Josei manga to mean anything that began being published in 2013 or later. Obviously personal taste plays a role in whether you'll like something. I'm also trying to focus on Shojo and Josei manga licensed in English officially, so some excellent stories will sadly be missing from this list (they should probably get their own at some point).

Ribon is one of the best-selling shojo manga magazines of all time. This is a list of all the Ribon magazine (and Ribon Supplement magazine) manga which have been or are slated to be published officially in English at some point.

However, some Ribon manga which haven't been published in English have reasonably well-known or infamous anime such as:
