This manga does such a good job of building tension without getting stale or too frustrating. Definitely one of those manga that will have you screaming and yearning for them to just kiss already!!! It's a feel good fluffy romance, so if that's not the kind of content you know you enjoy, there may not be enough drama and intense storyline in this for you!

The main characters are introduced as tropes that COULD be flat and static, but instead the manga really fleshes them out as individuals and gives them character growth. Even the side characters feel fully developed. Wanting to see how much ... more the characters grow and realize things about themselves and others is great at keeping you invested.

I'm one of those people that regularly gets frustrated by plot built on miscommunication and this didn't frustrate me. They don't WANT to communicate the truth of their gender, so it feels very different to someone not communicating for no apparent reason.

Also the frustration that a problem wouldn't have occurred if communication had happened is also lost, because the main problems in the story are not born of the lack of communication. Usually the problems are as simple as, the maid cafe is closed this week so I have to suffer not seeing my love intrest! Or, my love interest is getting hit on and I'm jealous!

Something else this manga does right is in its queer representation. It doesn't play into the tired trope of, ew you cross dress that's disgusting, when someone finds out. But also it doesn't avoid the negative feeling/doubts/or public stress of being queer or not passing. It's very love is love pro lgbtq+, and overall the interesting crossplay premise avoids a lot of the toxic tropes that BL and yuri have because the main characters regularly act as both genders and aren't as tied down by gender roles.

Obviously this manga is ongoing, so I cannot confirm that it will stay this way, or what will happen when the tension finally breaks. In general though I think this is a very feel good manga that usually makes you laugh and feel warm and fuzzy. So I strongly doubt that will take a sudden turn into harsh drama and unpleasant feelings!

The story is funny and lighthearted so far so don't expect extreme action or even extreme romance! If you're not a fan of misunderstandings being a large plot point you might not be into it. The art is amazing and the jokes are funny, there's a good balance between fluff and jokes. The story isn't too predictable, it's just enough to be comforting and cosy. The characters are all funny in their own way and all seem like unique people and not just cookie cutters of other characters (within or outside of the story). They don't always act realistically but that's the pull toward ... romance manga for some people! Check it out if you're into cute anime culture being included in manga!

Story: The premise is cute and simple, two boys that have very different personalities both cross dress for various reasons and fall for the other. Situations ensue from them both dealing with their secrets. This manga is nice and light – there’s tension and comedy from them trying to hide their secrets or getting into embarrassing or comedic situations, and at the same time the stakes are never too high so it doesn’t get overly dramatic.

Characters: The leads are both charming and cute, and I like how apparent it is that they’re both very into one another. It’s cute to watch them get embarrassed ... or second guess themselves because they’re trying to impress or woo the other. And it’s cute when they interact as boys, not knowing the other’s secret. The cast of side characters is fun. There’s enough of them that there’s variety, but not so many that they start blurring together.

Art: The art isn’t the greatest in the world, but it’s still good at what it’s trying to do, which is be cute. Some of the face angles the artist chooses look a little strange, like a ton of direct profile shots and occasionally certain angles in certain panels look a little off-model. But it really gets across their cuteness, especially with the way the artist draws expressive eyes, and their faces are very emotionally expressive which is key for a story like this.

Overall: I highly recommend this to anyone who likes light romance, slice of life, and BL/queer manga. It’s just a nice, fluffy story about two cross dressing boys falling for one another in a romantic comedy of errors. If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, you’ll probably love it. For those that want more tension and drama and plot, this might not be your favorite. And if you aren’t into adorable crossdressing femboys… go sit in the corner until you understand why you’re wrong.
