This stack covers stories that are longer and where the focus is not so much on the typical relationship problems but also include non-relationship related plot. In some of these manga it's more BL subtext while the main focus is on something else.

The focus is less on the most disturbing stories but more on the overall setting, though some stories here are more messed up than others. These are all Joesei manga that I’ve found interesting! It’s all manga, there aren’t any manhua or manhwa in here at all. Remember, Josei is a demographic so while there are a lot of heterosexual romance manga in here there’s also Boy’s Love, mystery, action, thriller, isekai, and etc. I hope you find a new manga to enjoy!

deeply tragic manga with mature themes centering complex, flawed queer and trans characters. these aren't your average toxic yaoi/yuri with crap representation & unrealistic/fetishy characters/dynamics. these don't necessarily end tragically, so no spoilers here. (TW: SA, CSA, abuse, suicide, self-harm, under-negotiated kink, among others).

features trauma, loss, abuse, grief, complex relational dynamics (for example, trauma bonding, codependency, and the like), and f*cked-up people doing f*cked-up things, among other things. definitely a mixed bag -- some center romance, while others don't. basically, read these if you'd like to suffer.
