I actually read Surge Towards You a few months ago, but never got the chance to write my review until now 😅 So please forgive me 🙏
Surge Towards You has been showing in my FYP for quite a while now, but it’s just recently that I decided to give it a try. The art was what sold me out at first because the baby looks sooooooo cute 😍
I actually think that the romance started pretty well and progressed quite fast. When I checked the number of chapters, ok, that makes sense. The only thing I didn’t like was the drama. For me, the “running away

trope” is already overused. There’s really nothing new in this manhwa, but I really find the main character’s backstory quite fascinating. Overall, I think this is an ok bl story.
As for the main characters, the alpha really stood out for me. Considering his trauma and how detached he was in the beginning, I didn’t expect that he would be the one who fights more to make their relationship work. He was quite annoying at first so I really thought I will end this story not liking his character, lol. I really like his backstory and character development.
The omega on the other hand was really funny at first lol. He always speaks his mind in a clueless way that really stresses out the alpha, wahahaha. His backstory is really sad and I’m glad that in the end he was able to work on it and get better in the end. Unfortunately, he was really annoying on the “running away” part, so minus points for that, wahahhahaha.
For the art, it actually reminded me so much of Love is an Illusion because it also started with a black and white art. I thought we would only get the colored art in the special chapters, so I was really delighted when season 2 came in with full colored art! The art really looks amazing, and should I say that Yi-ho is probably one of the top cutest babies in manhwa world?! He’s so cute and chunky. Those cheeks just waiting to be pinch 😍 And when he smiles, he looks like an angel, uwaaaahhhhh!
Anyway, the main story finished at chapter 50, but the creator gave us almost the same amount of side stories so I am really happy! It’s great seeing more of our cute baby Yi-ho and seeing how the couple’s relationship progressed considering they conceived pretty early in the story.
If you are looking for a decent story with a very cute art, you might want to try Surge Towards You. Happy reading!
