Synopsis

In the northern lands where war continues without end, young Almark hopes to be a mercenary like his father one day. Thinking the timid boy ill-suited for such a life, however, his worried father envisions a different future for him—all the way at the Nork Magical Academy in the peaceful South, once he's old enough to attend. And so, despite Almark's efforts on and off the battlefield, he eventually sets out for the academy to respect his father's wishes. But what lies ahead on his journey to becoming a magician?

This one has the perfect atmosphere for a medieval manga. The mercenaries act like mercenary. Magician act lik
e magicians.
The good-
Top tier world building. Very much detailed. The north and south are well written.
The art reminds me of berserk. Perfect for a manga like this
The not so good-
Very ok characters. Nothing too impressive. We mostly follow a cast of kids. Kinda annoying for something like this
Plot is just nothing really. At least for now. It has a lot of time to cook. It has a good foundation

This manga is an interesting read, we have almark son of a famous mercenary that manage to get enrolled in a magic academy and follow his day-to-day life, we have a world that starts and end in said academy, we have a worldbuilding that can be summaryze as nort = war and south = peace and nothing else really.

This manga has an art that i find enjoyable, a likeable mc and not so bad cast of character. However the story for me never goes beyond the point of just interesting, i can say the same about characters interaction (with the exception of maybe ...
