Synopsis

The black-clad boy that Aya Oosawa likes is perfect: he is effortlessly nonchalant, has a sharp sense of style, and listens to the best music. Ever since the trendy Aya stumbled upon a small CD store to enjoy the rock classics her friends are not familiar with, the mysterious employee behind the counter has been on her mind. Meanwhile, the quiet and aloof Mitsuki Koga listens to her popular classmate Aya rave about her crush, tormented by a nagging thought: how to tell Aya that the guy she is interested in is not a guy at all!

In reality, when Mitsuki sheds her plain high school uniform, she is the one manning the counter at her uncle Joe's CD shop. She wrestles with how to reveal her identity, but flirting with the stunning and clueless Aya is just too tempting. As music becomes their shared passion, it seems that Aya's feelings will remain unchanged—even when Mitsuki's secret comes to light.

Preliminary (177/? eps)
So after catching up to this manga. I don't have too much to say besides I really enjoyed it, and this is coming from someone whose extremely mixed on girls love manga. Like don't get me wrong, im 1000% supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and works involving those themes, but when the most popular manga of your genre is Citrus, which is... yeah..., i'm gonna be very skeptical. But I really was just surprised about how much I ended up loving The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All.
For those who don't know the premise, one day when walking home from ...

Spoiler
I won't lie, I while i do like this manga, I just cannot continue reading it.

It has many things going for it. The setup is really good, the characters and their dynamics are very much a strong point, and I really like how Mitsuki has an entire arc about accepting her identity as a masc lesbian, which feels really refresing to read in a media enviroment which pushes femeninity onto masculine women. However, despite my love for this part of the series, its very much does drag on longer than it should have. It really should have eneded when the main couple got togther, or ...

Preliminary (41/? eps)
I've been pushed to read this piece by a style that is intriguing along with the synopsis, which explicits a plot that is not something inherently original (tropes as "something mc would believe as X turns up Y" are definetly not few) but the story for how it's portrayed as a masculine lesbian with an approach to "alternative" music and subculture.

As others said better the biggest problem is the lack of deepness in dialogue despite of themes caused by the smallness of the chapters, and the random scenes. But I want also to take charge on the music and lifestyle, the manga treats mainstream bands ...
