The Hero, the Demon, and the Villain follows Kane S. Ronard on his journey as a villain. Along the way, we meet Serena, a hero trying to restore her house’s honour, and Aris, the demon king who has lost everything dear to her. The story blends action, comedy, and serious moments, and it’s enjoyable to watch how these three unlikely companions navigate their journey together as a strange little found family.
At times, reading this story feels like being part of a Skyrim playthrough, especially with all the past lives Kane S. Ronard has lived. While this adds depth, yes, it definitely became confusing after a

while. That said, the main thing that kept me invested was the dynamic between the three main characters. Each of them contributes in their own way, and watching them form a strange but functional found family was genuinely enjoyable. I also appreciated the shift in tone as the story gradually moves away from pure comedy into something more serious. This change works well as we learn more about the protagonist, revealing how skilled and dangerous he truly is, rather than the third-rate villain he initially pretends to be.
Even though I enjoyed the character dynamics and the tone shift, the ending unfortunately felt rushed.
Once again, it feels like another manhwa that ended up being rushed. The story jumps abruptly from Kane achieving his goal and using the Book of Evil, which led to summoning Kurta, to him suddenly accepting death because his evil will “live on.” Right after that, it cuts to a scene with all the main characters back in his original house, with the protagonist now inhabiting the body of a boy no older than fourteen. The transitions feel sudden and underexplained, which made the conclusion feel unsatisfying. Because of this, I had to deduct points from my score. If half ratings were allowed, I’d give the story a 7.5, but since they aren’t, I’m settling on a 7/10.
