Story:
The beginning of the story establishes the general tone for the rest of the saga. While it is usually lighthearted and comedic, it can quickly shift into something far more serious, something that becomes more prevalent later into the story. Although the narrative primarily follows Yuria and their party’s point of view, it frequently jumps between the perspectives of various side characters, giving the world more depth. The pacing is brisk but controlled, ensuring that plot threads are rarely left unanswered. much larger conspiracy. Deus ex Machina plays a central role in this unfolding mystery, tying directly into the manhwa’s overarching themes and long-term plot. The fights are superb, as thanks to each character's unique ability, even though Deus ex looms overhead, it's hard to guess who will win everytime.
Art:
While the art is not especially exceptional, it has a distinct style that is slightly cartoonish and charming in its own way. The fight scenes are dynamic, with clear motion behind each movement. It still has moments of 'sakuga,' particularly when Yuria flares up. Meanwhile, the deadpan expressions on characters’ faces as they talk or analyse situations add an extra layer of comedy to the manhwa.
Characters:
This is what I consider the strongest aspect of the manhwa. Not only does the main cast of useless-but-not-useless idiots dragged along on this journey have distinct and charming personalities, especially goofy Yuria, but the author also puts real effort into the characterization and design of each side character. This makes them easy to remember, even if you don't know their name proper. The backstories are well written and help make every character memorable in their own way. This is especially effective because each character has a unique ability that gives them a fighting style unlike anyone else’s in the manhwa.
Enjoyment:
Personally, I love this series. The stakes continue to rise with every arc, eventually surpassing even Yuria’s original goal. While some readers might find the art style dull compared to other works, or feel that certain plot twists are too cliché, it is highly unlikely that anyone will piece together the overarching mystery on a first read. Rereading the story allows you to focus on the subtle hints planted in the earlier arcs, which gradually reveal what is really going on. There is nothing quite like this series, and I am confident that, at the very least, you will remember the premise.
At least give it a try, the twists only get crazier the further you read.
