Synopsis

Lee Myung-jun, the Vice Chairman of Hyun-do Group, lost his daughter to a group of bullies. Seeking revenge, he adopts Yoon Karma, a psychopathic defector girl. Yoon Karma: A sadistic human weapon created through drug experiments in North Korea. After killing everyone in the research lab, she escaped to South Korea on her own.

Having just been released from a juvenile detention center in South Korea, Yoon Karma sets out to hunt down the bullies at school, driven by the desire to avenge her new father and satisfy her sadistic pleasures.

Pure Horror, Revenge and KARMA, lots of karma, notably that of the cruel and unusual punishment kind. Season 1 is 46 chapters, and I think it's good read. It'll make you FEEL conflicted, have you pointing figures at who's to blame for what problems. There's 2 main families that are the targets this season. Next 3~ seasons will be about the other targets.

This comic, will make you feel like there's really no limits, that the trail never ends. And when you catch up it still dragging you along on the rollercoaster, that's hallmark of a good story, imo. This is tragedy disguised as retaliation/retribution, ...

It's rare that I'm at a loss for words when I review something. But I don't know how to describe how disturbed and at the same time fascinated I was/am by this story. Sometimes I describe bad stories as a “car crash”. You probably know the phenomenon of people seeing an accident and gawking. They may not want to, they may find it disgusting, but they can't stop looking. I usually use the metaphor “car crash” to describe something that I didn't really like but couldn't stop reading. But that's not the case here.

If I had to describe this manhwa in one word: boring.

There’s no real story, no character development — just a psychopath doing horrible things over and over again. It’s mildly interesting for a few chapters, but it quickly becomes repetitive and predictable.

Another major issue: the “tension” is fake. Every time the main character faces a supposedly tough situation, there’s always someone explaining how powerful the enemy is — panel after panel of buildup — only for it to end the exact same way:

“But the MC is a superhuman, so the enemy doesn’t stand a chance.”
That’s it. No real explanation, no clever strategy, just lazy writing.
