It's...a very pleasant and straightforward Korean romance, set in what bears a passing resemblance to Victorian England. That is both its greatest strength and its greatest weakness. Temper your expectations and you'll be sure to enjoy it.

By that, I mean, if you're looking to find something to be compared with the Greats like Pride and Prejudice or Jane Eyre, or even the manhwa equivalent of Bridgerton, you're not going to find it here. This particular romance has been filtered so carefully through the manhwa lens. Compared to iconic characters of this genre like Elizabeth Bennet, Jane Eyre, or Mr. Darcy, the main characters of this ... story are painfully plain in both looks and personality. So far the romance between them are nothing more than your standard yearning between the Cold Duke of the North towards the Shy but Actually Beautiful protagonist who is deemed undesirable by high society despite looking and acting and speaking so very perfectly.

Of course, while this protagonist is considered to be Not Like The Other Society Girls with their lack of wit, she's nothing but pleasant and considerate and gentle to every character she interacts with.

Their relationship are also pretty smooth sailing, with no conflicts of ideology or personality, and the only things that resembles an obstacle are that of her own lack of self-confidence and so-called "shameful past". And the lack of racial diversity means the characters cannot be distinguished from so many RoFan stories out there. I, for one, cannot distinguish Ian Dalton from the countless black-haired Cold Dukes of the North.

But, if all you want is a pleasant romance with no huge stakes other than an exceptional woman's love and happiness, this is the perfect story for you. The art is nice and pleasant, the budding relationship so far is nicely paced and well-written, and the historical part of this historical romance is pretty well-delivered for a work of this medium.
