Synopsis

After numerous attempts, the shapeshifting raccoon dog, Toto, has finally acquired the ability to transform into a human. Despite being shunned by both his family and the forest animals for this, Toto aims to use his power so he can experience human life as he knows it. Although Toto can barely sustain his human form, he dives straight into applying for work at the Morinoura Hotel, an inn on the outskirts of his forest. Now, Toto must juggle between carrying out his duties at work and keeping his identity secret from his mysterious boss and eccentric coworkers—all while making the most of his new life.

Preliminary (13/13 eps)
A cute story about a tanuki who wants to eat ice cream. I read it as it was released and I quite liked it. The manga is completed on MangaPlus. The story has cute character interactions and some traumatic backstories. The characters are explored, eventually leading up to an ending that somehow made me tear up despite being nothing special. I thought the execution on it was pretty good. The ending landed well in my opinion. It's not a groundbreaking manga. The art and story are rudimentary. It's only 13 chapters.
