From Call of The Night and Dagashi Kashi, Kotoyama has once again blessed us with another story. This time, the ending is actually good!

For a one shot, the characters are set up decently well, though there is little development time given for each- the Zashiki Warashi (Parlor child), Neko Musume (Cat girl), and Nurarihyon are all great with what little time they're given. Of the 3, Nurarihyon's bit is the most repetitive, but he is still very funny. The Cat girl in particular is very reminiscent of Kotoyama's other female leads from Call of the Night and Dagashi Kashi. The Parlor child has the least ... going for him, but the chemistry between him and the Cat girl is very entertaining.

The art is fantastic, and all the jokes introducing the various yokai and monsters land. Continuing on about the art, some of the panels with the larger yokai- the Gashadokuro and others- were beautiful. The ending also wraps it up in a neat, but slightly melancholic, bow.

The only reason this is not a 10/10 is the short length- for a one shot, it delivers very well, but there were some missed opportunities with some of the yokai; though I am not sure how he could have extended it without dragging the story on, there was just a little something missing between the beginning and the end.
