Koi dano Ai dano is a wonderful shoujo manga, if I must say. I can't even understand why there is so little reviews about this manga.

This is my first attempt to write a review and I chose this to be my first to write on about. I'm picky when it comes to reading. I read all kinds of manga as long as the story piques my interests.

First of all, what I like about it is that this is not your typical shoujo characters. If you think about it, the protagonist - Kanoko - is so amazing that in the long run, you won't care anymore ... about what may happen on her lovestory. Yes, she's not popular, and not even beautiful (she's so cute though). What you'd like about her is her personality. She's funny and full of sarcasm, and I think you can relate to her musings especially if you're introvert just like her. But the most beautiful about her is SHE IS NOT WEAK that you'd be surprise about her reasonings and choices.

The other protagonist - Tsubaki - well, I'd think he's OP because he's the most popular, handsome, intelligent that you'd love him and dream, "I want to have a boyfriend like him", but you'd know why he's not because you'd see his flaws but still understand him. Tsubaki is a genuine character, that's his best characteristic. He's honest and sarcastic that when he's paired with Kanoko, you'd enjoy all of their bantings and spazz all the way.

The flow of the story was soooo great that you'd want to read it all night or what. Although, I'm a bit dissappointed with the ending. I wanted more of Kanoko's interesting musings and plans but it ended shortly. It's may have ended nice with their lovestory but I guess, I expected too much from Kanoko (yes, I love her). Anyway, they ended it nicely, you'd still smile for them.

The art is decent enough that you'd see their expressions and emotions, the character development was the best and the lovestory was romantic. All in all, I enjoyed this story so much that I wanted a sequel. I rated this 9 out of 10.

Ps. You may have heard that this story is a sequel of Warau Kanoko-sama but I assure you that it's independent enough that you don't have to worry about reading both stories. Though I suggest you must.

story:
The initial plot starts as off with Kanoko planning to revive the newspaper's club just to cause trouble and observe the "war" between the 3 biggest clubs; with the "war" being a main plot point throughout the story. The author knows that it is a ridiculous and exaggerated version of high school so she decides to play into it comedically. And while it is a comedy, the author makes sure to convey real and important lessons and themes brilliantly, without it feeling awkward.

art:
personally speaking, I love the art style of the author, the art also improved considerably from the prequel.

characters:
The dynamics between the ... various characters are the heart of the story, with each having a different and hilarious relationship. The author also delves into the psyche of the main cast and explores it masterfully.

The story mainly follows Kanoko's (and Tsubaki's) development as they get to interact with many different types of people and discover themselves. They are forced into these unusual situations that slowly start to change them and broaden their horizon. Their romantic development is also natural and sweet!

(My personal fav is the relationship between Kanoko and her best friend Momoka and their genuine beautiful bond)

This is such an incredible shoujo, and so unlike any other I have read that I think it will stay with me for a long time.

Despite its lack of popularity, this is truly an incredibly well written manga, and even when comparing it to non shoujos I still think it is much better than a lot of them. One thing I usually despise about shoujos is how the female lead revolves around the male lead for the entire duration of the story, but this is NOT the case her at all. You see Kanoko live her own, independent life with Tsubaki simply standing by her ... side. Some of the dialogue in this really resonated with me, especially things Kanoko said. I think it can give a lot of strength to any teenage girls struggling to find her place in high school or simply feeling inferior. It can even change the minds of those who purposefully isolate themselves due to those feelings.

Not only that but the way romance is portrayed is so realistic and refreshing! I usually feel a little grossed out by the lovey-dovey exaggerated romance in other shoujo's like kimi ni todoke or blue spring ride, but here it had me giggling and squeeling without cringing AT ALL. I think its because outside of romance, friendship takes SUCH an important role in this manga and that's what I value the most. Kanoko herself asks the question "Who decided romantic love is more important than friendship love?" and that's when I knew this manga would hold a special place in my heart. Kanoko is the most lovable female lead because she is 100%, unashamedly herself in every situation, and that doesn't change no matter what. Also, bonus points to her just being insanely funny along with the whole cast, who are just as lovable as her. As for Tsubaki, the amount of character growth he experiences is unlike anything I had seen and I was rooting for him (not even in his romantic ventures, just in terms of personal growth) like no other character before him.

I am trying to keep this review spoiler free so that I can help convince anyone to read this amazing manga, but there are just so many amazing things that happen in it that I want to talk about so it is quite hard. I really want people to experience it like I did and find as much joy and comfort from it as me.
Please please please give this a chance! It has all you could ever need!
