I was simply reminded of shinobi life while reading akaki tsuki. They both have the traditional Japanese style. Both heroines have similar personalities, but the main males are different.

Both in the kabuki world. Beautiful pictures. Both strong female characters. Akaki Tsuki is more of a mystery/romance/supernatural but Pin to Kona is the drama/romance/comedy behind the scenes of the kabuki world.

In these supernatural shoujos , both female leads have a supernatural power, and in these stories the events involve traditional Japanese cultural settings and the succession to leadership of a House. One is set in the world of Kabuki and the other in a temple type setting, with traditional clothing. Both of the male leads that would be successors are talented and cold. The female mcs of both stories want to save the male leads from a bad fate. If you like romances involving fate and the supernatural world and give these a try.

Kabuki theatre, gender bender and supernatural themes are in both of these shoujo romances. Orange Chocolate is more of a gender bender, while that is more of a background element in Akaki Tsuki no Meguru Koro. These romances are set in the traditional Kabuki theatre and both have supernatural story lines.

Both have beautiful art and feature traditional dance, but Akaki is modern and Hana is historic.
