its very hard to find and read this manga so i write this review for any one who wish to read them. Kudos to ikedafiles on tumblrs for the scan and the translation of the two volume Spoilers: its about junko a pretty girls who every other girls hate on for being a center of the male attention but end up not returning their affection, they tried to separate her from.her only friend keiko and its worked. Among these girl theres Makoto who has a crush on this man, who Junko claimed to had forced a kiss on her when she reject him. Junko said ... this when confessed her love for makoto and said shes heartbroken that makoto disliked her. And then suddenly Makoto returned Junko love and they kiss and dated then sometime passed by and Junko said she lied and Makoto leave Junko for the man.
Its problematic but i dont think its ill-intention. It has many toxic tropes like women being intimidated by pretty women, the victim lied and the ending. Umm chille anyway so. But you have to remember this was written in the 70s it has a pretty man hating lesbian and a kiss so i would say it was an effort.
I will always love Ikeda for trying to give wlw something. Its not the best, but she tried and i enjoy some aspect of it. I love when gay girls were given the shoujo manga treatment with the meodrama and the sparking artstyle as a fruit myself. Im not offended by it at all. Ikeda is like your supporting Grandma try to buy you a rainbow shirt with love is love on it for Christmas and tried to get you to wear it. I cant help but imagine she has experience some type of intermalized homophobia herself.
So anyway, its my guity pleasure and a pleasant read but 6 for that ending ma'am.
