It is one of those creators of manga that could make the bleakest moments in chess be as heart stopping as in a war. The swinging and walking to the next spot in golf was like the swings of punches and running for their lives and the reaction, oh the reaction. It was so unreal but still expected in a manga. Eyes dilated, and mouth overstretched, nostrils flare. Shockeness and sadness in King of Golf equals that excitement in winning a lottery. By 200 chapters in, the author has created a masterpiece that is powered by an impressive range of golf knowledge (and comedy).
The first 50 chapters are standard sports shonen: a delinquent thinks he can golf, works at it despite the difficulty of the sport, and then ultimately…(no spoilers here don’t worry). 50-100 is where the story begins to become impressive. The main character, in order to fuel his growth, does unorthodox things to work on his game. One of the best sports series I've ever read , everything from the Characters to the story is absolutely great I'd highly recommend checking it out especially if you want a realistic take on golf with great art style as well . There's consequences for every single action the main character does and there's plenty of great build up overall I used to loathe golf before reading this manga series and it completely changed my mind . I've reread the series twice and you pick up plenty of stuff u wouldn't have noticed first time around . It's also quite Hilarious, pretty damn charming
