It's hard to find queer Manga and it's even harder to find ones with good representation.

Manga with queer themes are often extremely sexualized (yaoi and yuri for example). They often feel very disingenuous, as if the person writing the Manga has never even talked to a LGBTQIA+ person. These Manga are often written for straight audiences that just want to get off to a gay couple.

But luckily there are a few Manga that have really good representation and that are often even written by a queer person.

Here are my recommendations as a person that is also part of the LGBTQIA+ community:

Manga against the patriarchy.

Yo besties, I've been having a challenge of reading short manga.
so I thought of creating interest stacks for this challenge.
Some of the manga I've listed in the challenge aren't in MAL so I will list them in the description.
Each set (currently there are 15, and it continues) has 49 entries, and the manga vary in genres and popularity.
All of the manga are 1-5 volumes long, and I would love to see other people participating in this challenge!

LGBTQ+ characters in seinen, josei, or just mature manga

This stack is for any manga prominently featuring sapphic characters that was published in a female-oriented manga magazine.

Note: There are plenty of sapphic shoujosei manga, this is just a small selection.

Any manga or manwha that primarily revolves around sapphics in a college environment.

Note: I did not include any overly explicit series in this stack.

These manga deal with the struggles many people face as they enter the adult world, such as sustaining a career, navigating relationships, or finding a place in society.

These manga have serious discussion of sexual relationships and sexuality. Not just shameless smut!

LGBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, queer, binary transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, intersex, asexual, aromantic, etc.) parents in manga.
Some are headcanons- those are indicated by question marks.

Same as in the "Yuris published in France" stack, except that this one lists yuris but also more ambiguous titles where the romance is not always obvious.

Spanning 6 decades, this diverse set of Shōjo and Josei manga is very much worth reading…according to some random guy on the internet.
This list includes both short and long series. I’ve sorted them by length (with ongoing series at the bottom regardless of current length).
All series are either fully scanned or officially licensed.

my yuri favorites/recommendations for people wanting to get into the genre ^_^ note some of these are subtextual and for some I recommend the anime more than the manga (utena, madoka, etc.)
