Manga: Sabishisugite Lesbian Fuuzoku ni Ikimashita Report
Both are fantastic semi-autobiographical pieces. Both manga deal with themes of self reflection and self improvement. Kakukaku spans a greater length of time than Sabishisugite.

Both mangas involve art students dealing with creative process, being humbled and challenged in their ambitions, and going in a countryside art university.

Manga: Natsu no Zenjitsu
Art college life is a turning point in both manga's leads. We are shawn how their relationships and the notoriously dissolute life of an art student influence their art, creativity and future. Kakukaku Shikajika is autobiographical and covers more than just the college period, while Natsu no Zenjitsu concentrates on one year of study and one relationship of the main character.

Manga: Hirayasumi
Both are slice of life manga about a young woman trying to become a successful mangaka. Kakukaku Shikajika is an autobiographical work about Akiko Higashimura while Hirayasumi is fictional but inspired by the feelings it's author Shinzo Keigo had after overcoming cancer.

Manga: Dasei 67 Percent
Despite taking different stances on the matter, both manga are about a female protagonist studying for an art degree while enjoying her life and encountering several common students' woes. However, Kakukaku Shikajika is introspective while Dasei 67 Percent is a much simpler episodic comedy.

Manga: Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
Despite following a different premise, both series chronicles a character's journey and their dreams. And throughout that journey, we learn from their experiences and hardships. Both series' main female protagonist has a similar personality with a passionate goal in their lives. There is also a distinctive amount of realism and metaphors in both series categorized by insightful narratives.

An older version of the protagonist looks back at the past with regret and tries to pinpoint where she went wrong. Kakukaku Shikajika is autobiographical, whereas Orange sets out to explore how different choices impact the present.

Manga: Bakuman.
Both manga tell the story of how the protagonists became a mangaka and their struggles. Both has a touch of realism (Kakukaku Shikajika is the autobiography of Kuragehime's author anyway). While There are also the figures that are respected for having deeply influenced the main characters. for Bakuman it's the editor, for Kakukaku Shikajika it's the art mentor. Kakukaku Shikajika will contains more melancholic feels than Bakuman.
