They are not all romantic in nature. None of these are one-shots either, though some are more short than others. Please enjoy these and I hope you find some interesting things in here. I’ve read all of these and loved them so I’d be honored if you’d do the same. ![]() ![]() These are all Joesei manga that I’ve found interesting! It’s all manga, there aren’t any manhua or manhwa in here at all. Remember, Josei is a demographic so while there are a lot of heterosexual romance manga in here there’s also Boy’s Love, mystery, action, thriller, isekai, and etc. I hope you find a new manga to enjoy! ![]() ![]() A shoujo manga means a comic published in a magazine targeted towards the young female demographic (under 18) in Japan. ![]() ![]() Josei means a comic published in a magazine targeted towards the mature female demographic in Japan. ![]() ![]() Tokyopop was one of the OG titans of manga publishing in the US, and specifically built their foundations on their shojo titles like Sailor Moon, CLAMP's works, Fruits Basket, and so many other heavy hitters. However, due to poor management and the 2008 recession, they ended up almost completely withdrawing from the english manga market barring some OEL comics and disney manga and losing many of their biggest licenses. They had a decent presence in Germany/the EU manga landscape, and would later in the late 2010s re-enter the English manga market fully as a boutique manga publisher. Although they aren't the titans of the English market they used to be, they licensed some amazing shojo/josei that I hope to collect over a series of lists to compile them. ![]() ![]() Chuang Yi was a publishing company based in Singapore that began in the early 1990s and specialized in producing domestic and imported comics in English among other languages. Chuang Yi distributed its products in Singapore, India, Malaysia and the Philippines. Distribution to Australia and New Zealand was facilitated through Madman Entertainment. It shut down sometime around 2014. ![]() ![]() I'll also include the Zero Sum WARD and Zero Sum Online manga licensed in English. |
