The Shogakukan Manga Award (小学館漫画賞, Shōgakukan Mangashō) is one of Japan's major manga awards, sponsored by Shogakukan Publishing. It has been awarded annually for serialized manga since 1955 and features candidates from a number of publishers. Each winning work will be honored with a bronze statuette and a prize of 1 million yen (about US$9,000). Special awards are also occasionally given out for outstanding work, lifetime achievement, and so forth.

Japan's Shōwa era lasted from 1926 to 1989. In 2009, Asahi Shimbun announced a polled list of 50 of the greatest 'masterpieces(名作)' of the Shōwa era. The only one not listed on MAL yet is 'Iga no Kagemaru' by Mitsuteru Yokoyama, which was ranked 27th.

From 1979, with the released of the first Captain Harlock anime (for an odd reason named "Albator" in French), the universe of Leiji Matsumoto fascinate the french peuple. So now, some of his mangas are translated in french. Here a list of these mangas by released order in France.

Manga that talk critically about environmental destruction through humans (rather than a natural catastrophe) and the climate crisis - or offer sustainable alternatives to it.

This is a translation of a widely-publicized poll from 2021. This is NOT my personal opinion, so how about you shut up MAL.

Manga somehow related to Clamp: referenced in their works and mentioned in interviews.

Not on MAL:
Macaroni Horenso by Tsubame Kamogawa (mentioned in xxxHolic)
Comet-san by Mitsuteru Yokoyama (Kobato inspiration)
Kyonyuu Hunter - Ohkawa likes this but I'm unsure about the author, I'm gonna assume it's the one by Kouichiro Yasunaga

Many manga/novels adapted into anime only get one adaptation. Some have received more than one. Reasons for this may include: creating an adaptation more faithful to the source material, a different set of creators wanting to take their own spin on the material, or reviving a dormant franchise. Having multiple adaptations available also means more debate amongst fans as to which one's better.

For this stack, I won't be counting sequel seasons, even if they are made by different studios from their predecessors. I'll only be including latter adaptations that start from the story's beginning.
