A manga that somehow makes you want to travel and feel like traveling when you read it. Manga based on light novels are included in the manga version.

There are some BL works mixed in, so be careful if you don't like them.

Number of sales and date that number was acquired from in notes for each. Some of them I have personally estimated a higher figure than the date says.

No. 160 would be the Himitsu Series of books. It's for children and I can't find it on MAL. It has 116 volumes and started in 1972, and has sold 23 million (June 10th, 2018).

No. 168 would be Nippon no Rekishi. It's for children and I can't find it on MAL. It has 24 volumes and started in 1981, and has sold 20.2 million (March 19th, 2020).

No. 169 would be Cuffs - Kizu Darake no Chizu by Jin Tojo, and has sold 20 million (February 14th, 2022).

No. 189 would be The Tale of Genji by Waki Yamato. Couldn't find exactly which one it was she made, and has sold 20 million (May 1st, 2021).

They would have gotten away with it too, If it weren't for these meddling protagonists.

A list of manga about solving a big mystery, solving individual cases that are unrelated to each other or solving individual cases which are linked to solving a bigger mystery.

The mysteries solved are either a mystery to both the protagonist and the reader or just the protagonist with the reader knowing most of what's going on, it may also be a mystery to whoever is trying to solve the mystery which could be supporting characters or the protagonists antagonist.

Academically inclined bunch. These are the studious or smart characters that:

1. Love and seek knowledge.
2. Academically gifted or inclined.
3. Excels in studies or experts in the field they pursue.
4. Passionate and talented in their work
5. Status: Students, Professionals, etc

The characters must show their skills, knowledge or expertise in the manga or anime.

Naoki Urasawa is a Japanese manga artist and musician. He has been drawing manga since he was four years old, and for most of his professional career has created two series simultaneously. Urasawa has been called one of the artists that changed the history of manga and has won numerous awards, including the Shogakukan Manga Award three times, the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize twice, and the Kodansha Manga Award once. By December 2021, his various works had over 140 million copies in circulation worldwide.

Complete list of the book 501 mangas to read in Spanish

I couldn't find the manga (Gekiga Mō Takutō-den) It is a manga about the life of Mao Zedong by Fujiko Fujio A.

I couldn't find the manga for (Samurai-tachi no México) which is about the first Japanese immigrants who went to Mexico. Hisashi Ueno, Konohana Sakuya, I'm not sure what part of the manga each did.

I couldn't find the manga either (Mibu - elBulli)

Schools banning books is nothing new. Here are some notable cases of manga that have been banned/challenged in schools.

This is a list of the Viz Signature and Shonen Sunday (excluding any Shojo/Josei in the Signature line) imprint manga that have been published physically in English (so it doesn't include any digital-exclusives that would be found on Manga+ or SJ app). This also doesn't include any of Viz's Shonen Jump imprint titles.

I got annoyed that someone said Viz release more Shojo than Shonen, so I made this list to put into perspective total Shonen Jump (and now Shonen Sunday and Viz Signature) releases vs the already existing Shojo Beat release interest stacks

I've left off a bunch of Junji Ito's anthologies since they include both shojo and seinen manga in the anthologies

this stack came to being because i started thinking about what manga i could recommend my friend that reads mostly western comic books and eventually figured i'd gather all manga i could think of that fit the criteria of taste of western comics readers in general and didn't have any aspects that commonly throw them off and stop them from reading manga.

what i considered in making the stack:
- setting had to be western; if fantasy or sci-fi then it had to simply fit western aesthetics and have at least non-japanese names for characters, if contemporary or historical then it had to be set outside of japan (though not necessarily in the west, if it had other aspects that could appeal to a westerner, since if it's set outside of japan that means that the setting is written with an audience that is foreign to it in mind) and have mostly non-japanese characters
- artstyle had to be non-anime; either realistic, semi-realistic in the way that is at least inspired by how western artists tend to draw or stylized in a way that doesn't contain any of the typical codifiers that signify "anime" to the viewer
- vibe had to be western; this is the most vague standard, but it basically means that the way it is written can't be too culturally japanese, so not a lot of japanese humour, tropes, gimmicks, etc.
- it had to not be too popular; i didn't want to add any usual suspects that commonly get recommended to non-weebs, because then i wouldn't have space for the less popular hidden gems that i wanted to highlight in this stack (to clarify, anything above 150,000 members on mal is most likely not in this stack)

feel free to comment me suggestions for a potential part 2, especially action manga, because god knows i don't read a lot of action manga and that's a lot of what western comics readers like to read
