There is just something... that really kept me watching. Staring, as if at a blank canvas. A story, that felt void in a sense, and yet was so captivating to the imagination. This is Blue Period.
Perhaps one unknown regret would be not reading the manga instead of watching this anime, since I do enjoy drawing and creating art myself as a hobbyist. But either case, I was going to check out this anime eventually, and do not have the time to really flip pages for the time. And it is difficult to put into words how exactly this anime presents itself. And I say
...
that, since there is a lot of introspection into this anime, and humanity at that. It does discuss some core aspects relating to art as well, albeit far less theory, and more so surface level. For instance, they would allude to the use of grayscale, but never outright said it, at least for the anime adaptation. The pacing as well is not too well concrete in a few instances, but they handled that alright I imagine. Also, episode 3 was whack as heck, I almost dropped the show then and there, thinking VIZ or whatever head management forced some sorta DEI quota or woke diversity agenda onto the series... like many recent waves of series had done all of a sudden... but it was only a one time occurrence. For now. I can probably go on and on about this or that, but the MC really carried this show just enough for me to complete it.
Overall, I think this anime, well not being the best adaptation polished (at least according to many manga readers), really hit a lot of nostalgic points to when I was in art classes; of the courses I would take from school or from the city's museum quite a number of times. And ultimately, it is a love letter for the artisan in us all.
It is certainly not perfect, but there is beauty in imperfections. Be it about identity struggles, or self-reflection, this anime embodies that to me as clear as day. This is not an anime for your average viewer, this is an anime for the people who knows what it is like to leave their mark onto something, and the struggle in achieving to do so, above all opinions. Even those closest to you. And I cannot help but to give my respects to Tsubasa Yamaguchi for doing such.
Art: 8.2 /10 - Stellar main character designs, detail to multiple art pieces and prominent scenes.
Story: 8.7 /10 - EP 2 and especially EP 7 left me with goosebumps. And EP 12 gave a wholesome ending to the animated series, no need for a sequel.
Music: Stellar (I like the ED use a lot)
Audio: Sub > Dub (I tried Dub, but the JP voices were more emotional and textual context were more meaningful)

The 2nd Season of Sentai Daishikkaku was a pleasure to watch as it further explores the world-building of the "Go Go Loser Rangers" and has some of the more interesting characters in the spotlight, who were on the sidelines in the first season. And I HIGHLY recommend to watch this anime in its fantastic English dub. Unfortunately, for whatever reasons, the pacing and story progression felt rushed after the school arc which was around episode 6 and onward.
And it seems for most people who followed the manga, they can attest to the lack of production in the later half of this 2nd season. Personally,
...
although they did chop and sped it the last arc, I sill found it very enjoyable. And was shocked to see its low rating of 7 compared to MANY slop isekai (of that I can appreciate although) which ironically would have a higher rating...
The animation is gorgeous and the story at its core will draw you into a memorable world that you would never expect for "Power Rangers" if you ever grew up seeing them around. I do want to mention that this was released on Disney+, which probably contributed a ton to its lack of viewership overall. Hence, my 9/10 MAL rating to boost it, and honestly, it is a great anime overall to where I would absolutely come back to watch a potential season 3.

It is very good. When I initially watched Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto I was captivated by its world-building. But over time, I began to grow fatigue of the capsuled world stuck within its magical academy. This really felt more like a spin-off to a "what could have been" series, the focus being on the silent side-character, who happens to be overpowered among regular students and mages. Maybe I would not mind it if the story was more engaging for me, but is not the case. Perhaps it will get better, considering it is a Light Novel adaptation, but regardless of the medium
...
or adaptation, I simply do not think I am the intended viewer to have gotten roped into this series.
That opinionated take aside, it is indeed worth a viewing to tell if this is to your tailored catalogue of shows to watch. The animation truly is stellar (not to mention ED and OP songs), particularly in the first 5 or 6 episodes. Do I think it deserved such animation? Well, that is indeed questionable, as that was prompted many times in my social timelines. In either case, there may be a sense of nostalgia in here for you. And that, alone makes it worth it, and special.

Clevatess: Majuu no Ou to Akago to Shikabane no Yuusha is a true gem of animation and story, and I find its average rating of 7.4 /10 to be far too lackluster for what it truly offers. The only reasoning I can come up with for this, is simply the occurrence of gore and lines of nudity if I recall? Not exactly the type of anime to go mainstream, despite its initial appearance as a kids' showtime before bedtime feel.
Even then, for me, the first episode may or may not be a bit difficult to get roped into as it has that sort of
...
old-school anime gradient feel to it, but I can attest that it is one of the most well-crafted series of this year, 2025. It already beats 95% of preexisting fantasy-genre anime till this point, and I have watched a boatload of anime. So, read the synopsis, and try to push through episode 1 to see by the end of it if it it's to your liking. Though, I have a feeling most of you anime enthusiasts will very much enjoy this one. It has been a while since an anime got me hooked.

The last episode's plot twist ruined this series for me because of its terrible reasoning. I honestly just skipped most of those segments in the episode as a result, it was that bad. Very questionable ending at that. Maybe if you are a younger viewer then sure, but even then, I find the "moral lesson" they were trying to convey flat out wrong in a lot of instances, and even thought that the "villain" Goldran in this story didn't deserve to be the one trailed guilty.
Now what did I like that got me to watch till the end? I did found it generally a
...
good watch in previous episodes, and would recommend it for its unique character design alone. It showcases a lot of short series of events, short stories mind you, in a somewhat connected manner passing on. Sort of his short adventures to better coin it. It was alright. I would recommend watching up until the healing of the aristocrat's daughter, and just end it there.
Also, I thought the end credits depicted somewhat of a more overarching story to come, but it never did. It feels as though the studio behind this is certain in it getting a 2nd season continuation. I may or may not pick it up again from there depending on if the author will write something decent.

A lot of love went into making this final season. And so it pains me to say, how disappointed I am of the half-hearted treatment this beautiful series received throughout its 3rd season. It is basically a 24 episode series skipped and cut to fit a 12 episode fixed timestamped frame. Which is just... so cruel. It is still worth watching in my opinion. However, you have to watch the 2 essential OVAs of Tenri-hen beforehand, which are crucial to understand the underlying concept of the fastening plot, as they introduce gods and new conflicts into this season finale. Anyways. Before reading further into this
...
review, I want to make ONE thing clear: this was a well-done anime compared to many others out there. Thus, its shortcoming I am about to list should not deter you from seeing it to the end. Besides, you likely already binge-watched the first two seasons, what's one more?
Season 1, and especially Season 2, left me in disbelief of how beautiful our dating sim protagonist embodied his ideals while attempting to manifest them in order to gamify reality. Denying reality in place of HIS ideals. Quite literally being his own "god". Some may call it blasphemy, but as a man I find it admirable striving towards godhood, unfazed from Earth, Heaven, or Hell.
S3 GENERAL TAKE
Now, to give it straight [slight spoiler warning... obviously]: Season 3 felt far more plot-oriented and rushed. Rushed to the point where our protagonist didn't feel anymore as the main character that he was in Season 2... being drastically changed with little explanation or depth for much of the matter. It was not something of a change well directed given his initial high-horse god status he rode on without much of a care in the (real) world. Furthermore, Season 3's atmosphere became far more sour, heavy, dark, and grim, for certain surroundings and characters. It was as if the Divine One was the one possessed by a lost soul all along. And the ending to this season finale... was sad. And frankly, left our Divine One questioning everything initially thought of about girls, games, and the real world. Given that he still had his collar on though, I am probably reading too much into it. But it was like a NEET finally engaging with, and succumbing to reality. Which is the opposite of what made him, well, him. Not that he should remain a NEET. However, it made me understand a bit more of why he would choose to remain locked in room. By the end, he probably realised that even for himself, staying shut-in playing dating sims wasn't going to fill the emptiness he dug for himself at the end. At least, that is my interpretation of the last episode. Not much was elaborated afterwards, and I didn't read the source material it was based on either. It pretty much left me with some emptiness as well, ironically.
S3 CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
I pretty much already described the protagonist's character, but to go a bit more in-depth, it did bother me how from the get-go he already threw away his love for games given how S2's ending teased otherwise how things would proceed. It was, again, a very sudden shift in his character. Not a single video game reference aside from very generic lines if any. He pretty much already accepted reality due to the more serious development in the world around him, and yet, how the story went about directing this was not the absolute best route in my opinion. I can understand the reasoning, and there were some scenes that made up for this shortcoming, but it still didn't feel as natural as I'd expect. The whole season was too rushed for my liking, and by extension, its characters' developments (in some cases it was fine, others too abrupt). For reference, Season 2 left me googling multi-monitor setups, whereas Season 3 left me... well... puzzling for what love now meant for our protagonist. It could have definitely been pieced together in some greater capacity.
S3 TERRIBLE CARE FOR PLOTS
This is probably the main issue for all its branching complaints listed so far. To put it simply, this is basically as 24 episodes finale squeezed into 12 episodes of fixed timestamps for the sake of tele-"vision" "standards" which has been ruining a lot of anime in my view. Essentially, the story skipped some key heroines, and simply assumes to the viewer that he conquered their hearts already. I am not an original source reader (I probably should though given how well written this was), but in either case, this was unacceptable given how S2 teased them to come out in S3. Something clearly happened somewhere in the studio planning or whatever it was, that threw this masterpiece of a series right under the bus.
SLIGHT NICKPICKS
And instead of cool dating sim retro snippets at the end of each episode, we got spoilers previewed... honestly, as a viewer that just ticks me off. I shouldn't need to have my guard up for spoilers after finishing an episode, especially of a series like this holding mysterious elements. Also one last note: the OP song was not as good compared to the masterpiece that awoken something in me from S1 and especially S2.
CONCLUSION
All that said, if I were to redirect this, in some other world as an anime director, I would've seen the ending tied up nicely with a 24 episodic finale instead of 12. This is probably the most prime example of an anime that could have tremendously benefited from such. But, as Kami-sama cares for, only the ending matters. And frankly, that s a lot better than a whole lot of other anime series out there that never actually have an ending in sight at all.
TLDR: This series deserved more love, not a rushed ending route.
6.5/10 for this season. 8.5/10 for S1, 9/10 for S2, 4 OVAs (2 of which were arcs necessary) 6.5/10: ~ 8/10 avg. for the whole series

I've seen a lot of isekai anime out there, and this one stands out in just how crisp and well animated many essential scenes were. Even the ecchi content is well crafted if I must say so myself. So it came as a surprise to see its low rating of a 6.9 on MAL where other far less cared for isekai stories get away with like a high 7-ish rating without putting in even half the work as this anime clearly did.
Now, is this anime the best isekai? Heck no. But it is quite the contender for the most standardized textbook one out there that
...
I could find. I think just overall nowadays anime has gotten quite the bump in quality across the board, making it harder for many well-done anime in general to compete, let alone reach a targeted audience. For this one, if isekai is really your thing, then you may find this to be a pleasant watch as I did to pass the time. You can argue it isn't unique all you like, but it is definitely well packaged to its craft, and I am not just talking about the MC here, but the anime as a whole.

The Sentai FilmWorks English dub for this series turned it from an anime on-hold to one of the greatest pieces of animation I have ever watched. Not the crappy Netflix one by the way, lol. For some reason, I could not stand or take it serious when Europeans spoke Japanese in such an era. And I mean no disrespect by that, that's just more of a personal preference on watching it. I suppose either way, the first couple episodes were pretty hard for me to stomach with interest. But I got through.
At first when I encountered this anime searching the web online, or MAL,
...
many reviews described how bad it was, particularly from a historic standpoint or realistic physics on human limits like jumping a wall or the weight a man could carry and throw back then. I've never seen so many Viking experts in my life ranting about this show. I, on the other hand, know little to none about Vikings, so I went into this series with no folklore expectations whatsoever. But folklore or not, what really stood out in this series for me were the character developments. Usually as a character develops you'd kinda expect it in an anime or notice every subtle take over time, well, chances are, you may be in for a surprise picking up this anime granted that you are absolutely going into it blind. I hate those type of people who would for the first time, read/watch something as great as Game of Thrones or Chainsaw Man, but go in already knowing or are hinted to expect specific things to happen from the web. And I even more so hate those people who just spoil stuff out of the blue for pointless clout or whatnot. Little rant aside, yeah. Don't listen to these reviewers who have an outlined criteria or expectations for this series, truly just give this series a shit and find out for your self.
Go watch it and judge it for yourself. Don't ruin the experience of what could potentially be one of the greatest pieces of animation you have ever watched solely based on a MAL review or having Google or Twitter beat you to the punch with mass spoilers, especially now since Vinland Saga 2 will be coming out. Although, I personally would likely not be watching it until maybe 2 years later when Sentai FilmWorks may do another masterful dub on it LOL. But who knows, maybe I'll cave in to the temptation and potentially avoid mass spoilers ahead as well. Hopefully Sentai actually does a dub for the second season to begin with.
For me, this anime is a 10/10. It's stuff I'm into and frankly, could relate more to from a cultural standpoint.
