The life of heroes is not a fairy tale
Hundreds of series of a similar genre suffer from cliched characters. Some are good and for everything good, others are bad and for everything evil, and the rest are details. Under the guise of originality, sometimes you come across titles about "good villains". It would seem that it is difficult to come up with something new here - but in this case, the authors at least tried.
Despite the quite standard plot (the hero gets a weak class and still plans to come to success with it), Noel Stollen is not at all a typical shonen central character,
...
consistently following the rails of the plot with the help of loyal friends.
The world of anime is not divided into clearly good and bad, and therefore is quite realistic. You can come to an agreement with local criminals when interests intersect, set up or quarrel with competitors in the profession in order to bypass in the career race, and recruit the right person by not the most diplomatic methods.
The main character is not an obvious villain: like everyone else, he simply lives by the rules of this world. And he gets by in life in all available ways, and does not simply receive superpowers from an unknown artifact or from an incredibly cool sensei after grueling training.
A big plus of the series is that the scenes in which the hero behaves like a villain do not cause Spanish shame. His actions are understandable, and the motivation, although mundane in places, is certainly not fantastic. For example, the customer tried to send our adventurer on a suicide mission, and then poison him so as not to pay the money that he already owes to the mafia. As a result, he lost an eye and all his savings, and then - his problems. In mafia series, such a plot twist would definitely not surprise viewers - so why should it do this in anime?
The plot itself is definitely not an Oscar contender and is generally quite linear. But it is still interesting to watch due to the scenery, which has moved away from black-and-white cliches and hero types, for whom "this world is absolutely clear." What Stollen will do next is difficult to predict, and this brings out minor shortcomings in the narrative.
The series has its downsides, of course. But against the background of typical representatives of the genre, this is one of the best finds: if, of course, you are not a fan of knights in shining armor, this title can be a "cold shower" that will bring you back from "heaven to earth." Here they suffer - and for the most part, quite deservedly.

I heard that some bloggers compare this anime to "Ore dake Level Up na Ken". So the only similarity is that in both stories the main character gets a system. Honestly: in my opinion, this title is weaker and it's not about PR.
Nevertheless, the plot is not bad, even if it is not something complicated. The anime immediately attracts attention with its stylish and detailed drawing. The frames look bright, the characters are drawn. The catchy plot is fast, exciting pace. The events are lively, the action is good, the animation in dynamic scenes pleases the eye, even if there are a lot of standard
...
moves like getting a system, the main character playing a hero and some other things.
The main characters, unfortunately, look a little template: an ideal couple in love, I would like some depth and development of their relationship, because of this the emotional involvement of the viewer suffers.
Overall, Chao Neng Lifang: Chaofan Pian is an easy on the eyes anime that is suitable for light viewing.

Quite a good anime, lots of action, interesting battle scenes, beautiful drawing, pleasant music.
I didn't understand one thing, where is the isekai here, if this is just fantasy,
it's not about the reincarnated main Nero, but simply about a strong mage-commander.
But in essence it's like Overlord or Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu, fantasy about the strategy of managing a "city/state" and the strategy of war, with accompanying forays for reconnaissance and solving internal problems.
I treat it as a diary, which contains records of the great feats of the main character, and most likely this is so. The heroes here are well-written, they are interesting.
I
...
like the goals of the main character in many ways. At a certain point, you stop distinguishing demons from people (I saw this in some reviews as a minus), which in my opinion is good, because this is exactly what this anime is trying to show.
I wasn't bored, overall the anime left a pleasant impression.
What I lacked was a challenge, the hero gets everything too easily. The demon world is not very well written, as is the human world, a little more depth and detail would not hurt.
I put the opening and ending in the playlist. Listen, it sounds very nice to match this anime.

For me, this is a passing series. I didn't like the development of the plot, it's monotonous, the motivational aspect for further progression has no seriousness. "Will they cut off your finger?" - Cut off even all 10. We can still sew it on. "Stab yourself?" - No problem, we'll finish the game in about 5 hours and then we can go to the emergency room. "Hang yourself? - No problem, now the party... hm.
Let's say that this is too much of a feigned aspect, which went beyond the limits when the viewer is ready to believe. I didn't believe until episode 24. They built
...
a trusting relationship due to the fact that they showed CHARACTER. The whole season is built on this.
In addition to the monotony and predictability, I was triggered by the problem with the development of the characters. The background of the characters is 1-2 lines for several episodes and you can't expect a continuation in the future. There is almost no emotional connection. It was almost possible to form it with Amina and Doujima, but with Amina it was more out of pity for the character's situation, while Doujima himself is an attractive character.
The dynamics of the anime suffer, as does the emphasis on attention. Also, in the piggy bank of bewilderment, from the mix of everything-little-by-little in the form of the main character. He is a sociopath, but in that case, why does the character have a garter with a random girl whom he picked up with den(?).
Calm in moments of pressure, but some old man pressed on the feeling of "camaraderie". Somehow it does not fit into the overall picture. This is one of the main ones.
I do not understand mahjong, the interest in the layout of the parties passed me by. Drawing, animation ... I did not expect much, and did not get much. At least, I have nothing to complain about and have expectations from a no-name studio. True, I would note that the background drawing does not hurt the eyes, like the transitional animations from frame to frame, which are clumsily done in places. OST ... for a TV about mahjong, excitement, passion and all that could have been made more exotic, probably. From the same anime series, I would watch Touhai Densetsu Akagi as a comparison. I do not expect a continuation, I do not think that the first part (based on the manga) will have a radical change in plot twists and / or the key problems of TV will be solved.
In general, I expected more, I did not like it.

This is the first time I've written a review of an anime from this perspective, but I think you'll understand why later. This review applies to the first season, this one, the third, the tenth, and so on. So, why am I even writing this? Well, guys and girls, tell me, do you have nothing better to do? Are you seriously, foaming at the mouth, proving to each other that entertaining chewing gum has no plot, is stupid, has no lore, etc.? This is some kind of cringe, to put it in modern terms.
I just play Kingdom Cum and enjoy it, don't blame me.
So, this
...
anime is the most natural chewing gum. Solo Leveling does not pretend to be a great anime, it does not pretend to be something with a super rich lore, which was written according to secret documents, under the supervision of scientists and great writers of our time. It's extremely unique, but because of that it's fun, you watch it and just enjoy it. You turn off your brain and don't need anything else. And even if you turn on your brain, you can still enjoy it.
What really surprises me is the level of production. It's just hilarious. Excellent animations, excellent music, a tough stylistic opening, both the first and the second. The track from the first season of Dark Aria is top notch. It's a pity that it was used exactly once, I hope it will be used again. The drawing is ordinary, in places a wild style, in places a riot, that triangular faces, with which you can kill just by hitting the chin. But it's clear that even the authors of the anime seem to enjoy the process, it looks so easy. I don't think there's any crunch or overwork, that you can climb the walls and hang yourself. It copes with its task with a bang.
And a few words about the main character, I always forget his name, for me he's just a guy. He is the personification of my childhood friend. When we were kids playing outside, he would always make up nonsense like:
I hit you
You couldn't hit me, I have a super cool shield
And I have an attack that will break through the shield
And my shield is unusual, that it can't be broken through by any weapon and there is no force that will break it
This is literally the whole solo leveling, but if my friend lost when he slipped and fell in shit, dirtying his jacket and running home, then I don't know if there will be such a big piece of shit in Solo Level to defeat the main character here. 100% no and he will defeat everyone and save everyone and the coolest girl will be his wife. And his raids are pure hilarity. Reminds me of the videos "I pretended to be a bum (and I'm a master of sports in basketball) and came and destroyed 12 year olds on the playground."
In short, people, stop arguing and proving to each other which anime is bad, which is good. Watch what's cool, ignore those who are trying to impose something on you and prove something, don't even waste your time. During the time you spend in the comments, you could have watched 10 anime, or a movie, or a series. Or taken a walk and touched the grass. This is regular gum, yum yum delicious. But these arguments of 10 year olds "THIS IS BAD, NOOOOO THIS IS TOOOP" I'm totally having a blast with this, you can cry and scream how bad this anime is, maybe you'll feel better.
Come on, watch and enjoy it with me.

I started reading manga on the advice of a friend, supposedly this is the Saw of the manga world, fortunately or unfortunately - this is not so. Yes, there is definitely something in common with Saw, but the differences of course outweigh, for example, inherent in manga about intellectual games, greater freedom and variability of actions, as well as the presence of various additional rules that are needed for the characters to show their moves in 1000 IQ and outplay each other.
Most of all I liked the psychological and physical games, where there are not a ton of rules and backgammon games for survival, in
...
them we are shown the true nature of people and what they are ready to do for their own survival and saving their loved ones.
I consider one of the main disadvantages to be the complete inability of the author to interestingly show games with a large number of rules, and this applies not only to intellectual ones. The reader is simply dumped with tons of text. Perhaps I wouldn't grumble if it was just a one-time thing, but no....it happens all the time, the author doesn't think at all about how to show the game better and more interestingly, so that the viewer doesn't fall asleep while reading a Wikipedia excerpt (I'm talking about Mahjong).
In addition, I can't help but mention the romantic line between the main characters, to say that I liked it is to say nothing. Although my interest level slightly dropped towards the end.
I also suddenly liked the ending. The fact that we were not told all the secrets of the borderland at the end preserves the main charm of the manga, giving room for reflection and specifically here it looks quite logical.
But I didn't like the final psychological game, largely because of one small detail that ruined everything, namely, the drug. It completely ruins in my eyes the image of Mira as the final and very dangerous antagonist, belittling her merits as a professional psychologist.
The manga is captivating, the characters are captivating, you believe them, you will undoubtedly find yourself here, you will be able to compare yourself with one of the characters, the author describes the characters and this world in such a simple and interesting way. "Find yourself, find your purpose in life, work through your problems and experiences, no matter what - hold on" - these are the thoughts this manga evokes after reading, and this is great, a good work should captivate
The manga is also optimal in length, literally a couple of evenings and it ended, you can and should read it. 9 hearts from me.

The story of the end of the world. The story of a paradise where only wolves can find their way.
The anime of distant 2003 left an indelible impression on me. Not the most complex concept and not the most twisted plot, but how it all is staged. Every detail works here. The described world is beautiful and scary. I have always loved the themes of the post-apocalypse. Especially the theme of a group of heroes traveling through such a world. Each character has an interesting personality. Perhaps the two main ones are very formulaic in places (Kiba and Cheza). I am pleased with the detailed
...
stories of secondary characters, which is not often the case in works.
I often read that the series is drawn out. I did not notice this anywhere. I watched it in one breath.
The drawing, considering the year 2003, is really good. Especially the drawing of the wolves. There are moments when you understand the author's idea and it could have been depicted more colorfully, but the level given is more than satisfactory. The vibe itself is predominantly dark, it reminded me a little of the same moments from Cowboy Bebop.
I would like to say a few words about the music, the composer is Yoko Kanno, and that says it all. It creates something incredible. Such different and unusual melodies surprise and delight. They change the whole atmosphere of the work. You can watch it in advance just for the music.
Many remember that the story has an open ending, which not everyone liked. As a result, later, 4 more episodes appeared that closed the story. And here they are, of course, the pinnacle of anime. It is there that all the cruelty and unscrupulousness is visible.
The work gives a lot of philosophical reflections. Many moments can be perceived in completely different ways. As well as the answer to the main question: "Have the wolves found paradise?"

I really liked it! The drawing, the style, the characters' personalities, the plot. Of course, in essence, this is the beginning of the story, it is not a fact that there will be a continuation. But I read the novel in full, a wonderful novel.
The most interesting thing is that the main character chooses freedom, this is a story about a strong, self-sufficient woman. The painted devil has a nasty character, although living in captivity, it is not surprising that her nerves give out. She has the right to hate others, knowing her past and the empresses' appeal to her. And yes, this is not
...
about active romance, there is some hidden romance here, this is about the formation of personality and about fate.
Koukyuu no Karasu reminded me of the trashy xxxHOLiC and the more watchable Natsume Yuujinchou, only in Chinese specifics. The theme of slavery and eunuchs is not fully revealed. Who knows why they built the script around 5-6 characters, given that there are a lot of people in the imperial palace and more.
What about the main characters? Crow is a cutie who hides the secret of the century, sees spirits, wields magic, walks with a downcast face, helps the courtiers get rid of yaoguai - Chinese ghosts, undead and other otherworldly forces, has a tendency to contradict higher-ups. The Emperor. In love with Crow, an annoying seducer of sweet pleasures, strains Crow with his presence.
A pleasant picture, well-drawn characters, magic effects, the Chinese style is observed. The oppressive atmosphere of the mystical era and ghostly appearances on the screen, the dead and bloody carnage, everything is done at a good level. There are no questions about the visuals. In principle, the plot is the same, considering that one episode = one story.
What can I say in the end. Is it worth watching? Most likely yes, it was filmed well, it is clear that the studio and the author tried, so yes.

The world of the future that we deserve or not?
Yoshiaki Kawajiri knows a lot about cyberpunk action films, but his talent is broken by the timing of Ova, not allowing him to reveal himself. My opinion about such ovas/films is that they are cool, but too short.
Another good work of his, a dark cyberpunk with the goals of "Kill you!" corresponding to the early 90s. Each episode tells the story of a prisoner who helps the police. In 40 minutes of the episode, the author manages to show each character from such a side that they evoke some sympathy. Drawing with attention to detail, looks
...
impressive during action scenes, synth-pop soundtrack, simple plot, heroes - the dregs of society, cyberpunk atmosphere, a bunch of ideas - which now look as fantastic as possible.
I would gladly watch a sequel, sustained in this style, I recommend watching it.

Firstly, I don't consider such 3D films anime. 2D and semi-2D yes. It's like putting Hollywood films and Disney cartoons in the same category, calling both options films. Animated 3D films are more like full-fledged films with special effects and computer graphics than 2D anime. But since they are included in the cohort of titles, we will watch and evaluate them according to the laws of anime. I am not a fan of Blade Runner, although I understand what contribution the first part made to the development of cyberpunk in 1982, before any William Gibsons and other writers. I watched the first part 3 times,
...
BR 2048 - 2 times. The first part was rather boring and not so interesting, the sequel was a little better, but also did not shine for its time.
Cyberpunk of the 1980s - 2000s is dead - "And look what would have happened if the idea of science fiction writers from the end of the 20th century had been embodied in the first half of the 21st century?" Pure cyberpunk dystopia, where high technology AI in the form of service personnel and a prototype of primitive digitalization. We can recall Aelita with the same concept and views. The world of victorious destruction, degradation of society with the pinnacle of the creation of society - androids, replicants and other unnecessary marginal creations. A brainchild designed to help, and not to know itself. Conflict based on fear. Fear of the future and therefore everything non-biological - alien and dangerous.
As for the Black Lotus, this is a typical hackneyed blank in the style of Netflix. The replicant is aware of itself. The replicant runs away from its pursuers. The replicant finds the main culprit, the customer. The replicant tries to live on. The main role is played by a girl and she suffers, she naturally needs help and she is helped. In fact, the plot is written for a good movie - a movie of 1.5 hours or 5 episodes, but they stretched it out over 12 episodes, which is why it looks sluggish and not so interesting. In each episode, you can notice plot holes, illogical moments and strange decisions of the characters. The graphics look more or less, it does not repel when watching. Rather, the script repels, but it is approximately the same in similar titles, so it is stupid to demand something else.
Overall, the series turned out to be weak, drawn out with a girl in the main role. Is it worth watching? If you are a fan of Blade Runner or cyberpunk, then you can watch it, but I do not recommend it. Only out of love for the genre I will give 6 points.
