OK, plot-wise it's a trainwreck and it doesn't really make any sense. The plot twists are forced and just there for the schock value, the characters are extremely over the top. In the beginning, it started out as a very good looking steampunk western, with a very nice atmosphere, but pretty soon it slipped into something I can't even describe in words. In short, classic Boichi. The plot is sub-par, but it's so cool and it looks so cool (the author's art style is one of the most unique and the best looking in the whole manga business) that you just want to read it.

I definitely don't think this series is bad or has no potential. However, I do have a few fairly strong comments about it. The series is a sports romantic comedy, but basically the sport is just a backdrop, it seems relatively unintegrated to the plot so far. The series is more about the emergence of young love, which is still quite well portrayed and seems cute. My biggest problem with this series, however, is whether it was really so important to show upskirt shots of a thirteen-year-old girl playing football, as well as whether it was necessary to show details of her ass and

This series is somewhat reminiscent of Dandadan in terms of plot. It deals with various conspiracies that are investigated by a strange group of eccentric mystery fanatics. The series takes on a distinctly episodic feel quite early on - there is always some mystery/conspiracy that our heroes investigate, only to eventually discover that this mystery is true, even if it always has some minor twist and they don't find exactly what they were looking for. We meet kuchisake-onna, a strange guy from dreams, but also turbogranny, a Loch Ness monster or a dog with a human face. In short, I cautiously recommend the series to

Atrocious spin-off, that's just ruining one of the most interesting JoJo characters of all time and one of the best female characters in shonen manga. Brainless doujin that brings the reader absolutely nothing, but softcore lewd scenes that doesn't even make any sense.
The art by the author of Kemono Jihen is cliché and doesn't even look like a JoJo story at all. It's more like an amateurish doujin made by some hentai artist, not a professional who is the author behind a decently famous manga. Moreover, the author is doing two things I consider a "sin" - the story is shocking just for the ... |
