The parliament does not represent you, life does not represent you, you are not understood within life, you are alone, therefore the system must be destroyed. But what exactly does the terror here refer to? A search for purity. Historically terror is essentially a bug in the enlightenment or perhaps an additional file attached to it. legitimacy. If a concept is accepted by the general will as a means of crushing tyrants then that concept becomes ethical yet there are some very serious questions surrounding this. Within France at the time there was almost no one capable of resolving these questions. Meanwhile Montesquieu would add another element to this formulation: virtue. Virtue and legal legitimacy, virtue and the guillotine, virtue and violence.
Robespierre and secular doctrine prepared the ideological ground for the Reign of Terror through this mentality. A radicalization taking place in a state of constant motion detached from ideology. Perhaps it was the exact opposite of the stagnation that humanity had maintained up until that point.
I could talk about this anime for hours. Terror in Resonance is an astonishing work. In its deeper layers the anime is filled with references to Julius Evola, Bakunin and many others.
