Ugh, what a total borefest. I only read it because I had to, but save yourself --- don't bother. It's a complete waste of time.
Seven chapters is more than enough for a great short manga, but this thing? Just one cliche after another. Not a single character to root for.
You could literally skim it in two minutes and get the whole 'experience' because it's that painfully predictable. It brings nothing new to the table.
So why am I even writing this?
Well, I suffered through it and now I've gotta hit this word count.

The Fable is one of its kind. The natural flow of humor made me chuckle even in some serious situations, which kept the reading experience very engaging.
Characters are very important in a comedy manga. Without their quirks, some jokes may never land with the audience. And given The Fable is a seinen manga, it has certain jokes that might not be well-received by everyone. Yet, thanks to its quirky cast, it was still a good read all around. And then comes the character growth of Satou which was genuinely entertaining. I also loved the dynamics of the characters surrounding Satou. Although I was a bit underwhelmed by ... Aug 6, 2025
Noel isn’t a super genius. But he’s super lucky. And his personality makes his situations kinda watchable, though there is nothing extraordinary or new.
So why am I rating it 8? Because I’m a manga reader. Call it biased or not… I liked the manga. The anime stays faithful, but it feels phoney or to be exact, it lacks depth. 100% unique stories are rare. This one mixes a bunch of common tropes. It reminded me of Tomodachi Game, which had more complexity. This one doesn't. Still, it’s a good one-season watch. Not strong enough to make me care about future sequels. Aug 6, 2025
Takopii no Genzai

I am of sound mind. I finished it five days ago, so now I can review it without bias.
Takopii no Genzai had a superb setup, but a halfheartedly executed ending. The ending was so dull that it erased all the good writing that came before it. Yes, the writing was good. Yes, the manga used cheap emotional tropes to manipulate us. ... Jul 28, 2025

Beautifully sad, but an essential read.
When past memories bring remorse, life can feel meaningless. Yet sometimes, we can still find happiness in those lost moments. As many have said, it’s not about how many loved ones we’ve lost, it’s about how we remember them. A similar quote appeared in "Sayonara Eri" too, when I read it yesterday. I became emotional while reading. I was reliving my own past. I felt that same remorse. But unlike the painter in this beautiful manga, I haven’t fully come to terms with my past. That’s why I connected with it so deeply, because sometimes, letting go and acknowledging the memories ... Jul 28, 2025
I love this manga. I discovered it accidentally. It was in someone’s signature on MyAnimeList. I asked him, he told me the name, I started reading it... and then I started loving it.
Human nature is strange. We fall in love with things that can never truly be alive, yet they gradually become a part of us. That’s exactly how I feel about this manga. It felt like having a conversation with old friends. Friends I’ve known for years. Every character gave me that feeling. Keeping the story simple is one of the most powerful narrative choices, and mangaka Jun Sakura did it effortlessly and beautifully. These kinds of ... Jul 28, 2025

The reading experience was almost dreamy. As if I were lost inside a world of fog, with nothing to see except the panels of this exceptional one-shot.
There was a text bubbleless panel of Eri… Yuta was taking before and after of that panel… and I could feel the silence in that moment. I was amazed at how immersive the experience was. Then came those endless panels. It felt like falling into the depths of an ocean. I might be exaggerating, but this was a truly unique experience. I was hyped, and it delivered. Fujimoto is unbeatable when it comes to one-shots. I really hope he creates more in ... Jul 28, 2025
Jujutsu Kaisen

The ending was disappointing. Given how popular Jujutsu Kaisen was, it felt like Gege either rushed it, ran out of ideas, or the whole editorial team simply messed up. Still, despite that... JJK as a whole was a fun ride.
For me, the peak was the Shibuya arc. That iconic Gojo train scene, where he declares himself "the honored one", was epic and gave me goosebumps. Yes, JJK has a lot of flaws. The biggest one? Gege losing focus. He could have delivered a perfect ending, but he fumbled. And the art? Unfortunately, it never improved. Even ONE’s Mob Psycho 100 saw visible artistic growth, but Gege's art ... Horror through human suffering is the core theme of this manga. As a passive observer, Orochi witnesses the suffering in people’s lives, serving as the narrative device for this episodic series.
To emphasize the severity of that suffering, Umezu often used children as central characters. Most stories are over 200 pages long, allowing the psychological aspects to develop decently. I also liked Umezu's art style in this manga, it complements the overall theme well. That said, the manga has its shortcomings. Every writer tells stories of their time. Orochi is Umezu’s voice from the 1960s. Having witnessed war and its aftermath, his stories are deeply rooted in that ... Jul 27, 2025
A good read.
A modern take on Atom. I liked the choice of naming the protagonist and the title Osamu, a great gesture. This one-shot was easy to follow. The mangaka has a nice sense of fluidity in paneling, and the art is gorgeous too. I enjoyed the comedic undertones in the protagonist, Osamu, he reminded me of Mashle and Saitama. There’s a clear sense of respect toward classic manga while keeping a contemporary tone. ... |
