One of anime's greatest comebacks since the Heisei era. Kinnikuman is one of those fever dreams you most definitely thought have never existed but turns out to be just a show completely shrouded in the abyss. It is most definitely a great show but it is far from being a flawless masterpiece.
Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin arc not only gives light to its side characters but also making them somewhat unforgettable despite fighting (mostly) once albeit the minor chojins. The show doesn't waste them giving them well crafted ideologies and dialogues that goes deep. Also bringing the twist of a Villain vs Villain perspective never ceases to
...
amaze me. Topics like how does it feel to be a dirty fighter, and what does it take nor cost to persuade an obstinate individual. The fights were great especially to wrestling and old japanese fans, they're not the flashy kind but offer a rather impactful mix into the shonen genre. Each and every character have their own unique gimmicks to how they approach a fight exploring more about their personalities and abilities not just from their looks. Speaking of their designs, it's a rather breath of fresh air seeing them as they are mostly reminiscent of older shows unlike the generic stuff put in newer animes. We have a spring wrestler and a wrestler who is a literal mountain. Albeit having a focus to new audiences, this show does its fanservice tremendously well also showing that the old characters have improved drastically and learning from their mistakes. What's also impressive is that this excuse for a Deus Ex Machina doesn't overstay their welcome as they come in risks with the cast losing having a somewhat dash of unpredictability to the fights. However there are times where old revelations gets mentioned having newcomers of the series become confused.
Like I said earlier, the show was still riddled with flaws not just the cheap animation but also its plot. Having an Episode 0 recap does summarize what had happened through the previous series but it doesn't fill you in MUCH of what had happened due to some moments where characters tell an old event from the original 1983 run with having little to no knowledge about what it actually was.
On top of that, the plot of this anime is sort of bare bones as it still focuses on beating one group because they're "bad". The backstories and exposition do become rather predictable but it still somehow turns enjoyable. This also does not help that this is a direct sequel to the old anime, and not Ultimate Muscle which most Western fans knew back in the 2000s.
The old anime hasn't actually aged pretty well aside from its animation and dated Japanese pop culture references with low brow humor, also from the fact that there aren't any official translations of it. Thus you'll have to binge watch the original anime to actually understand things like the arcs, and the titular Perfect Chojin antagonists. Kinnikuman, the protagonist, is almost drowned out compared to his original self as his friends and enemies get more screentime. There isn't much focus to his character and is one of the major problems of this show having the "Outshined MC trope". Though I already did see this through since they thought Episode 0 already filled you in on Kinnikuman's character leaving you clueless about his origins and affiliations. Lastly, their color palettes are based out of the manga so that just explains their boring and repeated use of White and Red uniform colors.
The anime does have flaws but it is at least great to see it returning after, I don't know... 4 DECADES AND A HALF.

Honestly one of the best types of Godzilla media out there, sadly there are times when the dialogue can get boring, Godzilla and other Kaiju only serve tiny screentime for all the characters to come up with some new Scientific Breakthroughs or whatever. The only problem in this show is that they really didn't plan the dialogue well making in some of the most boring and yawn inducing parts of the show not to mention only having 13 episodes with numerous characters to introduce. I brute forced myself to watch all the episodes which I guess is worth it since I got to see Godzilla
...
beat the shit out of a skinny armed and fat Jet Jaguar which Godzilla did not win (sad), but hey at least the show just made me motivated enough to keep watching.
I don't recommend this to someone who's more into action since the dialogue (again) can get pretty boring, the show is fine just covered with a cast who's just doing science stuff. The fights in the show can get epic but you have to sit through most of the exposition.
(P.S I just woke up, don't criticize my review)

Honestly, I it doesn't feel the same vibe as its original counterpart
The show barely made me feel excited and made me fall asleep (probably because the tropes of this show was overused).
The protagonist, Kid Muscle, is unlike his father who's funny, and (no longer) unique. And is instead way too annoying, and honestly way too perverted for a 15 or 14 yr old.
The design of the characters feels so damn bland and underwhelming compared to the old anime. Look at fucking Brocken Jr. from the original Kinnikuman and compare it to his Kinnikuman Nisei counterpart
The show instead focused more onto its flashy combat and weird
...
sense of humour which to me feels like reusing the same sheet toilet paper. The jokes itself are so corny that I'd lower the volume and rethink my life choices.
(I just didn't like the anime)

I'm somewhat pissed that I wasted my time on this godforsaken anime, instead of watching or finishing Fieren (which is peak fiction btw) I get my ass pulled to this anime by force by my weird asf friend. At first, things seemed kinda interesting until you dug deeper and finally realized how shitty this anime is, the plot is absolute garbage and is focused on Yogiri's overpowered ability. I can honestly say that this is worse compared to the Umineko anime. I honestly dgaf if you all don't like my opinion on this cringe, trashy, crappy isekai, fanservice mumbo jumbo bullshit show

Ahh, who could ever forget one of the grandfathers of the battle shonen genre. Of course everyone did...
Kinnikuman is one of those “I'm too old for this sh*t” anime which is evident of its humour and depictions of people in other countries (literally Brockenman and Geronimo). The anime itself was a blast to watch despite of its rusty animation, slow fights, and weird voice acting. I did find myself laughing at the first arc which is really rough around the edges.
The show's titular protagonist, Kinnikuman has got to be one of the most unique characters of its time. Not to mention the funny asf backstory
...
of him being dumped by his dad out of the space ship thinking he's a pig
The first arc (Kaiju Extermination arc) was really not that much enjoyable considering it being a parody from the likes of Ultraman and Godzilla. So I'd prefer to stay away from it unless you're a die hard fan and wanted to know who tf Kinkotsuman is, and how Kinnikuman met Terryman.
The designs and creativity with the characters are what made me hooked up on this show as it offered brightly colored , dark, edgy, weirdly shaped, and cool looking characters such as Neptuneman and Robin Mask. It was a product of its time.
But as further arcs go, it becomes rather interesting focusing more on the power of friendship, wrestling and even conquering unbeatable foes. It also does have some influence towards animes after its time, like DBZ, JJBA, and many more.
However, there are very fatal flaws in this show, which is its outdated animation and humour focused more onto characters getting hurt in a cartoonish fashion and weird perverted jokes, overall offensive depictions of other characters from different countries like Brocken Jr. who's a Nazi with a very clear and uncensored swastika. The fights are charming yet slow, there is mostly dialogue making things very anticlimactic, there's only hints of character development, and mostly no flashy moves and just grappling (ofc, because its a goddamn wrestling anime)
I won't recommend it to kids who are impatient with slow old anime and easily offended people since there are hints of racial jokes in the anime.
(I honestly don't know how to review and just wants to get this out of my chest)
