I really wanted to like this anime. It started promising, a female-targeted anime with a strong and confident female lead. The gimmick of her just beating up high society people because she feels like it seemed pretty fun, and the production looked high quality. However, as the story progressed, it became clear that it's just another bland, repetitive fantasy anime with a lack of meaningful substance. Unfortunately, it was just boring in the end. I still appreciate the anime for what it tries to do, but the bad writing is undeniable.
Story:
There is an illusion of an interesting story within the first two-ish episodes, but it
...
quickly disappears. The plot is repetitive and overuses the same gimmick without adding much to it. Any twist that seems slightly interesting ends up amounting to nothing. The storyline just feels uninspired and dull, and so does the world-building. It's like the writer doesn't even care; I imagine they were just going through an isekai anime trope checklist and ticking boxes.
Characters:
Apart from the main character, and MAYBE her love interest if you're feeling charitable, there isn't any character worth getting attached to. The side characters seem to revolve around the MC, and they really lack any depth or development - not that the MC has those either.
The main character just randomly has all the powers just because. Of course, she is born rich and respected too. It seems like new powers get made up for her on the spot; she is always the most important and relevant person everywhere she goes. Her powers and her victories do not feel deserved, for she never truly faced a hardship. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an overpowered MC hater. But normally, anime will decorate the story with fun or intense elements to make the overpowered character stories engaging, while this one doesn't even try to make its one single gimmick enjoyable.
Art:
The illustrations and character designs are honestly beautiful. The art style is nice; the drawings are high quality.
The animation is mostly good; however, the use of stills during certain action scenes takes away from the experience. This anime promises to entertain the viewer with the clobbering of high-class jerks, yet when a still drawing of a punch slides across the screen during an action sequence, it really detracts from the satisfaction. It's not too bad since the animation was pretty good for the most part, but I wish the anime with one single gimmick would take its one single gimmick more seriously.
Music:
The opening and ending are both great, especially the ending kept getting stuck in my head. I stayed more than I skipped, honestly. The soundtrack is just right.
Conclusion:
Overall, I think this is an ambitious project with great production quality that starts off with fun ideas, but it suffers from a bland, underdeveloped story.
I want more strong female main characters, but I also want them to come with a good story. This one just feels like the creators are saying, "Here's your strong, confident woman; she enjoys beating people up, there you go!" and then not doing much else, expecting that premise to do the heavy lifting and attract viewership. I wish they'd put more work and passion into this. The premise is simple but interesting, and it had genuine potential.
In the end, I wouldn't say this anime is bad, as I appreciate what it sets out to do. But I also wouldn't actively recommend it, as it didn't fulfill its potential. It just sits in that gray area of over-polished "mid."
