For anyone who does not know, this is anime adaptation of one of Chinese Classic love stories. Even though there is a lot of drama adaptations(by the Chinese), I find the anime appealing in some ways as it gives a simpler design of characters that have been overemphasize through the years.
Nonetheless, this anime is not without flaws.
The title is incorrect: Unless you read the original story, the actual title of it is actually Return of the Condor Heroes/Condor Heroes and Companions for direct Chinese translation. The title that it is currently named by refer to the prequel of this story
Some of the appearances of
...
characters are incorrect: the main protagonist Little Dragon Maiden(literally how you translate it) is known as a peerless beauty of her time with pale angelic skins and long black hair. I mean I know Japanese animators love to color in women of all different hair colors, but it would be nice to get the lead girl's hair right.....
Over repeated scenes: I guess this is the biggest turn down as the animation is probably run on budget. During the process, if this was to compete with other Japanese animation of its time, it would not do well. However since it is a Chinese classic, the story starting at Season 2 was exclusively Chinese and I believed it was air in Chinese Kids shows
Despite these aspects of it, I really enjoy seeing this story again as at least in the first season of the show, it was faithful to the original story. Yang Guo the lead male is a trouble maker and trickerster(he actually more devious and cunning in the original story) while Little Dragon Maiden other than her martial arts is a sweet innocent girl who just want to settle for a peaceful life with her beloved.
P.S. If anyone has any questions on this story or comments about this bad review, feel free to message me. In terms of romance that I have watched, I usually don't feel this way about it other than Inuyasha.

I first started the manga by watching the anime which caught my eye due to its great opening(not always the best way to judge the series...)
It had some good moments, but I just couldn't focus on the plot afterwards due to a bit of fanservice and a huge amount of flashback present throughout the whole thing. I thought that it was mainly because the anime present the story wrong which was why I went to the manga.
Apparently the manga had even more flashbacks and to make matters work, it keeps going back the different periods of the past while pulling the reader by to the
...
present which makes the story overall extremely confusing. I assume it was a style the manga artist had, but overall it doesn't help for the audience's focus such as who are the main characters and questioning if the present period even worth focusing on due to so much past events.
There was nothing much to the series as there are are some fight scenes, one notable one that was portray really well in the anime. In my opinion, it was better to have set the story in an earlier period and proceed from there since it kept zooming back to the past.

This is a old animated movie, but what makes it great still echos significance for future animation. We all know or have at least an idea that animation of all sorts cost lots of money, time and overworking of the staff.
Instead of conserving money, this one appears to throw it into the vast ocean known as expense which is clearly shown throughout its animation. From one who watch lots of anime, it appears as if everything as come to life. The environment itself moves even as the character continues to speak to make it as life-like as it can be. This is not prevalent
...
in most anime today as most have to deal with a budget and making this type of animation is really expensive.
The film itself was a box office failure(cost over 1 bill. yen and lost about 25 million yen), but it is still considered one of the greatest anime in terms of its soundtrack and offering something that we barely see.
There was not much of a story in my opinion, but for those who have watch much anime in a lifetime, it is an appreciation to the eye to see something that flows like real life.

The anime starts out with a jolly kind of opening. However before you know this, you are slowly grabbed into another world of horror. If you have watched "Ghost Hunt" they somewhat belong in the same category, but this one uses abstract imaging in order to portray something of the past.
Despite the Medicine Man(not even sure if he is human) being the main protagonist. We really never know much about him since the story focus on him, but rather his adventures to rid spirits or bring them to rest. This makes him one of the favorite characters in which he always brings about a mysterious
...
air especially when he turns into his other "self".
The other thing is the perspective of life in anime. No matter who or what, the story always tries to give them solace. In some way its a feel good anime, but in a horrifying, brutal fashion. At the very end, there will always be death, but the Medicine Man calms them so they can go on the afterlife.

What makes this anime extremely enticing is the fact that it has really great OSTs. Did I mention they had English vocalist too? Don't be fool by the opening credits. While human figures are roaming around, this anime is indeed about wolves.
Unlike other animes about animals that I have seen, this one highlights some traits of them which are rarely seen. The characters(wolves) can be fiercely independent, travel in packs and some even like to coexist with humans.
I have a preference for very sad sort of animes so some of the things I noticed were the desert sort of environment which most of the
...
characters have to live through. This has an obvious effect of course. It first makes the anime really depressing and emotional and it further hints the world is ending.
I will admit this anime is hard to watch, but if you watch it without any of your personal bias, you will definitely find the story enjoyable.

Another of Ghibli studio's work, this is another which got nominated for the Oscar aware. Unfortunately they did not win -_-. Moving on.
I first found myself absorb into this movie when watching it from Barnes and Nobles. Because I was so interested, I decided to ask for the name of it and see it from start to finish back at home in a anime website. At one point, I thought it was Ghibli's old work due to the old-looking animation, which was pretty good to be honest. However, I realized they intentionally put it that way in order to retell an old folklore (this is
...
based on Tales of the Bamboo Cutter) which made me love it even more.
A lot of people might say most of the movie were fillers since it portrays the life of Princess Kaguya, but I disagree since it gave a different effect, in which, it immerse yourself to her life and you soon feel more emotionally connected to her at the end due to how she lived her life in the previous years. Her interaction with other children, desires and even freedom makes one wish to free her and discard a lifestyle of luxury but limits someone's ability to do what they want.
The plot follows accordingly to the folktale with slightly subtle changes. However what made this stand out so much was the passage of time and how the princess was contend with something more simple. At the very end, the music will move you to tears as it make one remember a time when everyone was truly happy.
Definitely would recommend this movie. I found myself re-watching the series many times for several months. Its emotionally poignant and a theme that something can never be attained yet we always desire for it. Was I a sad? Very much, but this is what good storytelling of tragic events would do to you.

A series that you could probably finish in less than an hour. Story revolves a unlikely couple, an Otaku and an office lady going about their everyday life. Despite the episodes being extremely short, I believe they were well animated and never boring since there were no fillers.
I enjoy the interaction between many of the characters including those of the protagonist alongside acquaintances of his/her spouse. In some way you could see a little of what Japanese society today is like and laugh a little in how silly certain issues are like.
The series include intimate desires, trolling and disappointment by others of being an Otaku...and
...
other moments. Not much to say about this except it was enjoyable.

Setting the story into the future is not uncommon, but being placed at an end of the world era is something different. In this series, most humans have gone up to space while the ones that remained along with humanoid creations and robots are suppose to make it habitable at an even more distant date.
Anyone who watch this for the first time will find it confusing and possibly doesn't make sense. This does not mean that the anime is bad. In fact, some of which is intentionally and suppose to scramble your head till the very end. The focus of the story revolves around Vincent
...
a being that is not human yet the person himself isn't aware of it. He essentially travels around to find out his origin. Through the episodes, he finds out a little more of himself, but the series deceive both the characters and the audience, in which, we can't tell whether all these things are in his head or actually happen. There is even a what I thought was a "troll" episode that actually did happen and explain a lot of the premise of the story.
I cannot say much about it since there were lots of things I did not get when I first watched it. But I could say it was very enjoyable. It has a nice opening theme, most of the characters might seem annoying, perhaps even "bitchy", but soon you understand some of their reasoning why they act such way. In fact, some of the characters you won't really know till the end of the series. If you are willing to accept psychological confusion for the moment, feel free to watch it.

When the show first premiere, it was hyped for the anticipation and some horror it provided. In fact I believed that too since the opening was a bit creepy.
Turns out it wasn't like that since everyone who wanted to kill each other were more or so people who were unsatisfied with their lives. As a whole, I felt the story was decent for the most part. Most people would be very disappointing with the protagonist since even at a point of danger, he is unwilling to do something out of his moral boundaries and even the person who he wants to avoid, he constantly uses
...
her as protection. Having dealt with Shinji from "Neon Genesis", I was a bit sympathetic to why he behave that way.
What I was very disappointed at what the ending and lack of explanation for why the whole killing game started. Questions I had throughout the series included by did God need a successor, wasn't he already immortal if he was God? Why take a suggestion from one of the creators of a phone diary, in which long term could bring about a lot of flaws? Those questions persisted and in the end, what I got was a somewhat cheesy ending, in which didn't affair to make the story flow. In a sense, it was sort of deus ex machina as a friend of mine would say.
Since I have mix feeling about this anime through to the pros and cons of its storytelling, I would not recommend this to people who have watched a lot of anime. Your discretion is advised.

Set in a time after "Black Lagoon", a female weapon seller roams the earth along with her bodyguards. The two animes share similarities, in which different groups of people are always encountered whether they are CIA, gangs, possibly paramilitary groups. However, I cannot say they are same.
What made "Black Lagoon" very good was lacking in this anime. First the bad-ass female characters became sex appeal, in which the macho male associates in the group are always admiring their body shape or trying to find a romantic moment. Another if the lack of danger of this anime. The crew fought off various lethal elements yet they
...
just passed unscathed due their overwhelming skill in combat. This is where I would just be a bit irritated because despite anime logic, its hard for protagonist to win by outgunning the other guys. As a result, there is clearly a lack of deaths of the "protagonist" side except for one who wasn't exactly loyal to the group. I felt very little excitement, or anxiousness since they never use cleaver tactics and cleanly defeat everyone else.
My given rating is on the assumption that the anime is watched for the first time without having experiencing "Black Lagoon". However other than its decent opening, there is not much you can get from it.
