The junk food of otome isekai manhwas. If you dig this exact formula you might enjoy it but this is by no means anything new and other stories did it much better. Pretty much everything about it was mediocre but some of the more egregious aspects:
The stories and character are dissapointingly simple. Also, some of the characters' behavior don't make a lot of sense and they feel like they act according to story demands instead of being sentient beings with wants and desires.
The last section has many ""plot twists"" that don't really fit in and feel like deus-ex-machinas. In short, the entire story
...
felt incredible unnatural and not very immersive.
This manhwa does not deserve to be this praised, since there are others with a similar ratings like "Karina's Last Days" that are so much better.

This review might be contentious, depending on your personal preference and on how many stories you've read overall. Since the receptions are very good I'll focus on the glaring negative aspects, but first: The manhwa's art is very competent, the background stories of the characters are well thought out, and the world along with its magic system is intricate enough to pique interest. However, these strengths alone do not justify the ~8* rating it holds at the time of this review.
There are two major issues that make the story dull: the main character’s personality and the story progression. The protagonist could be described as an
...
overpowered character meets Gary Stu (derived from the term Mary Sue, which refers to flawless female characters). For a story to work, there needs to be some kind of character flaw to wrestle with, insight to gain, and power to earn (see: the hero’s journey). Sadly, even though the setup is promising—with the MC coming from a poor commoner’s background—the story never evolves beyond that point. He can be described as angelically saccharine, a well-mannered people-pleaser with no rough edges to speak of.
This could be forgiven if the power progression were handled better, but by chapter 85, every ability is explained away by “breaking through the infinite,” giving him a seemingly endless amount of power. In name and scope it vaguely resembles the Six Eyes ability of Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen. That said, there’s a good reason the author of that series sends Gojo to prison for most of the story—because suspense doesn’t develop when you know every obstacle can be effortlessly overcome. In short, both the character and power progression feel hollow and unsatisfying.
Unfortunately, the pacing of the story isn’t much better, though this is a more minor and subjective issue. The rate at which events unfold is sluggish, and much of the content feels more like a school slice-of-life. Some antagonists do eventually appear, but they’re dealt with too easily, and the developments are far too predictable.
The only aspects that remain interesting are the portrayal of magic and a few of the side characters (The most interesting one being essentially copy pasted from Harry Potter). I imagine this story is bearable if read weekly during a commute to kill time, but it simply doesn’t hold up if you engage with it more critically. Since character development and pacing are fairly important elements, the best I can give this manhwa is a 6/10. And that’s me being generous, considering the quality of the art and the aforementioned world-building and side characters.
Depending on your needs you are better of reading a classical OP-character story like Solo Leveling or something with more character depth like Barbarian Quest.

TL;DR:
This Manhwa does a stellar job at showing the change of relationship dynamic. The art is nice and the romance satisfying. The world-building, especially in the magic department, can feel a little lackluster. In short, an absolute Manhwa-gem that features a very unique story. (fiy: contains a lot of depictions of (sexual) abuse and suicidal ideations)
The goods:
This Manhwa goes all-in on character development, and I was genuinely impressed by the emotional depth it achieved. It's rare to see a romantasy story of this caliber in a medium often dominated by formulaic tropes. Even compared to better-rated titles, Your Eternal Lies impresses with its
...
nuanced power dynamics between the male and female lead. The premise may seem a little (too) simple at first, but the strength lies in the grounded and realistic dialogue (at least given the fantasy setting). Most of the story happens on a cruise ship, where conversations gradually reveal the characters' backstories. The closer we get to the destination, the more intense the story gets. Meanwhile the reader is always kept on their toes, not knowing whether they can trust the account of the female lead.
Some minor negatives:
The point I personally found most lacking was the world building. From the dresses you would guess this plays around the middle 18th-century, then you see a early 19-century steam cruiser and in the next panel there are F22-Fighter jets. While this can be excused as part of a fantasy setting, the lack of explanation about the magic in the world makes certain plot points feel a little deus-ex-machinay.
Some critics mentioned they find the male lead too flat. Since it's coherent with the story, this is not something I would critizice, allthough it feels excessive at times.
In some sections there are also some chibi-style comedic relieve panels, which might help some readers distance themselves from the rather heavy story, and as a plus, happens to convey the strong-willedness of the female lead. Personally I felt it was a little tone-deaf since this is supposed to be a more serious story.
(Minor spoiler): The story could have ended a little earlier to be more in theme with the rest of the story and to stimulate imagination - but who can say no to some well deserved, healing after-story chapters.
Rating:
In terms of personal enjoyment this was a solid 9/10. Even from a more "objective" lens, it deserves at least an 8 for its originality and the skillful execution of character interactions. Definitely worth your time, if you're looking for a Manhwa that offers emotional depth.

If you expect plot twists this won't be for you. This is a fairly simple beauty-and-the-beast like story with a cute girl ending up with a curse and magical powers that's protected by a man that happens to have a beast inside of him. Of course she is the one that can calm the beast, yada yada - you definitely heard of it before.
That being said, even though the plot is hardly surprising, the story is very well executed, mixes fairly tense battles, lighthearted comedy and a cute love story - all beautifully illustrated. The side characters are serviceable and we sometimes get glimpses
...
in people's (and ghost's) past which make the world a little more believable.
So, even if this might not be a life changing experience or transforms your view of the medium, it's still a great read if you are into the mood for some good action-romantasy

I truly want to like this manga but even though there is an interesting premise the story goes nowhere and by the end none of the plot points are resolved.
You'd think with a female protagonist on the bottom of the social ladder, reincarnated in a fantasy world, this would make for a unique read compared to male-centered isekai powerfantasies... Which it partially is for the first half of the story, but after a while the author threw everything out of the window.
They could have leaned more into the serious nature of Haru's situation or made something interesting with the uncommon setup. Instead, apart
...
from the heroines profession, we get something largely mediocre and run of the mill.
The art can be pretty at times but the story is barebones, sprinkled with female sexual fantasy that, at the same time, also tries to appeal to the male readership. The sex is fairly explicit without being downright hentai.
In short, the manga doesn't really know what it wants to be. It's a fun read for the first couple of chapters but don't feel bad for dropping it halfway through. You won't miss out.
