This had a lot of potential. The concept is fun, the dynamic between the main characters starts entertaining, and the first two fights are great. However, it jumps the shark immediately. I was excited to see the MC work his way up through the league and conquer it, but they immediately jump into a weird cult arc with big group fights?? I get that every action manwha needs a weird cult arc, but immediately? We hardly get to see what seems like it’s supposed to be the main setting before being thrown into something entirely different. There was no need. Hopefully, it improves as more ... chapters release, but I can’t be bothered at this point.

I really want to like this series. It has a unique take on the typical gates/dungeons/awakeners manwha setting, and the magic system is a lot of fun. Watching the main character change the world through mixing technology and sorcery has a Doctor Stone-esque charm that I loved to see. Pair that with the world-building, gods, martial arts, and it’s a great experience! However, the story doesn’t really do anything with all of its cool ideas… Lots of interesting plot threads, fun characters, and cool world-building details are introduced, but almost none of them are explored or resolved…

The dragon that ... killed the MC in his first life is still alive, and it’s very clearly hinted that we’ll get to see a rematch once it comes to Earth. Does it ever happen?

What about the Rothschilds? They seem like the closest thing to an antagonist we have outside of the monsters. Hell, they’re important throughout the whole plot line, and they actively decide to try and kill the MC close to the end! How does that go?? Oh, Jessica levels up and I guess convinces her family not to do it while offscreen? They make an alliance off screen and we’re only told about it in a single piece of dialogue in the final chapter. So, what was all the buildup even for?

On the topic of characters, what about literally anyone who isn’t the MC, his mom, Jessica, Yeoyung, or the Chinese girl? They’re completely pointless, of course! If you’re anywhere in the story past where the MC clears a dungeon with an all-girl party (I don’t remember the chapter number), you’ll never see any of those characters again! Even if they were massively important to the early story, they get absolutely no resolution.

The closer you get to the end of the story, the worse it gets! The 5 star dungeons? Totally ignored outside of a few panels giving updates on how they’ve changed and added nothing to the world or story since we last saw them. The dwarves? Never seen again.

Hell, even the Zakranaids are completely fumbled! They’re supposed to be the final boss, but I literally had no idea until the last chapter! The first conflict with them was cool, and it was clear they’d come back, but there’s no indication that they’d be the final boss until the last 3-4 chapters. And even then, they are dealt with in a single chapter and the story abruptly ends.

Basically manwha is full of cool ideas, but it doesn’t know how to execute any of them at all. It’s like watching a race full of the coolest runners and watching them trip and get lost over and over for 143 chapters. By the time it’s over, all but a few runners are completely missing, and nobody even crossed the finish line. Somebody just ran between two random poles and the organizers called it a day. Who even cares though?? You’re not picking manwha like this up if you have anything better to read, and this is still more interesting than a lot of the other slop you could find on here. Go get ‘em tiger!

I have no reason to review this other than to say, I'm so sick and tired of newer anime seasons ending at huge cliffhangers. Every series I've watched that didn't come out within the last few years has ended every season somewhat conclusively. Sometimes they tease the next arc or start a small part of it to keep people excited, but they never ended in the middle of the action. However, so much newer stuff I've watched has decided to make viewers wait a year or more if they want to see how a conflict ends without reading the manga. Dandadan is another example of ... that. I really enjoyed everything up to this point, but I don't feel even the tiniest bit satisfied after finishing the season. I still recommend it, but this trend is so obnoxious
