To me, this is a spiritual successor to Lucky Star. All talk, no action, but the dialogue rips. The two characters are unconventional, with unique perspectives, and great vocal performances. The show is, by and large, a show about nothing; but it's an enjoyable experience from beginning to end. My only real complain is that it's only six episodes! How dare they stop here?! But, that's to be expected I suppose since the manga's only two volumes long. The real shocker is that this got an anime adaptation at all! The deck was thoroughly stacked against it, especially since it takes place in a shopping

After seeing a few clips on twitter, I decided to go ahead and give this anime the old college try. The fight scenes were really well done - they used CG, but you can barely tell to be honest. They did something extremely convincing with after effects to make the CG look hand-drawn. Not sure what the process is called, but I like it. The battles across the last couple episodes showcased it the most.
Despite pretty much all the women in the show having a crush on their former teacher, I felt like there was very little chemistry between them, and ultimately he never hooked ... Jan 2, 2025

It's really hard not to compare this series with My Dress Up Darling since they're both very focused on Cosplay, but they go about approaching the subject in pretty different ways. Ultimately, I enjoy this series a lot, but for very different reasons. This show starts slow, but I think picks up later as the friend group expands and the cast grows. I think the back-stories of some of the supporting cast completely outshine the MC's though - especially Aria. Her story, in both the anime, and manga, really stood out to me as being impressive.
I don't see why some people complained in the thread ... Jan 1, 2025
I gave this show a 10, and I know that’s probably grossly overrated, because it’s not without its issues – pacing and payoff being the primary ones, but this show hits so close to my strike zone that I’m unabashedly giving it a perfect score. I’m sure there’s going to be haters out there, but this show is fantastic and I deeply hope they make another season so we get all the payoff that wasn’t granted in season 1, only teased. I don’t really think I need to explain what’s charming about this show, it’s pretty painfully obvious from watching an episode or two, and

Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp

It’s honestly impressive how editing can change an entire character from soup to nuts. Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp – is an abridged cut of the three Kizumonogatari movies, shrunk down to fit into a theatrical release. Now, what did they cut you might ask? All of Hanekawa’s character development (and horniness). You might say to yourself, “cutting out all the fanservice? That seems to be a great way to reach a new audience.” And, you might be right about that, but unfortunately, if you don’t include all the Hanekawa bits, we really only have this one view of her as a very sympathetic, perfect being, when

I picked up the manga for this thinking I’d like it based off the key art, so when the anime dropped on Crunchyroll I added it to my watch list. Woke up this morning, on the first day of the New Year, and was trying to find something to watch over Coffee… this was what I put on and I was not disappointed.
I think I’m going to casually swap out the retail training course we use for this and see if it improves things. The art was really nice; gave me a warm feeling. Lead character was relatable and likable in every way. 10/10 movie, and another ... Dec 27, 2023

It's nearly impossible for me NOT to compare this to DuRaRaRa!! (previous Naritaverse series), so I won't try.
I really love this series, but I'd like to say upfront, i think if you have to pick between watching the anime or reading the manga - read the manga. The anime didn't really add anything, or improve on the base at all, and I felt some of the animation was pretty rough and felt rushed-out. The voice acting was fine, but nothing on the level of DuRaRaRa!! (which has one of the best ensemble casts in basically anything). I don't think anyone in Deathplay really stood out ... Dec 24, 2023
I wonder how many people will say they Really, Really, Rally, Really, Really love this series? Because....I am one of them.
Peak of the medium. Culmination of the genre. Ultimate comedy-romance to end all comedy-romances. Truly one of the purest experiences of 2023. Not exagerating when I say that looking forward to this show every week kept me alive while working retail at Christmas. And all I wanted for the holiday was for them to confirm a season 2, which they delivered. We are ever so blessed. I'm sure by the time Rentaro gets his hundredth girlfriend, this series will have cured cancer and brought about ... Dec 19, 2023
I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaally love this series. If you watched season 1 and enjoyed it, I think you'll enjoy this season just as much. Feels like a perfectly executed continuation. On the whole this series is such a simple concept for an isekai, not overly laden down with stuff like rules, skills, exp, level ups, whatever. Just OL transported to fantasy world where she's got healing magic and gets to have a chance at romance. It's cute, wholesome, and the art is well done. Sei has her little side-quests and there's occassionally obstacles that pop up that she needs to clear, but the series does a good

The only thing I can really say about this series is that it was truly harmless.
Just a kinda bland office romance with a cute, short stack senpai, and a bit of a quiet, normie kohai. I like the dynamic between them, it's very fuzzy, but there was no development on a character or couple level at all. They both start out kind of crushing on each other (i think) and by the end they're still exactly where they began. Sadly this is another series where the coworkers and their story seem more interesting than the main characters. I really liked their manager as well as ... |
